It was not until Announcement No. 1495 /BSN/C0-c1/05/2018 of May 30, 2018 that SNI (National Standard Indonesia) officially announced plans to add more product categories in terms of safety and EMC certification requirements.
The following electrical products may be added to the SNI mandatory list in 2019 (roughly divided into five categories)

For audio and video, it is about to be enforced, according to the Ministry of Industry Ministry moI MoI No. 15 of 2018 (version one) regulatory summary:
- The law was promulgated on June 26, 2018
- SNI mandatory period: June 26, 2019 (release date + 12 months)
- Grace transition period: 2 years, i.e. until 26 June 2021 (application date + 2 years).
This means that products that have been manufactured (without the SNI mark) can still be marketed on the market until June 25, 2021, but their production date must not exceed June 26, 2019 (mandatory date). SNI's forced audio and video products include:

- The sampling time is separate from the review time. If the auditor is also acting as a sampling officer, sampling must not be carried out during the review.

- Series division principle
- For imported products, it is mainly based on the HS code as the first element to confirm whether SNI is mandatory. If you need to confirm the HS Code, please pay attention to confirm with IWC
- The customs code is 8 digits, as shown in the mandatory SNI list
- Home Theatre home theater and Mini Hifi System mini hi-fi system are not mandatory SNI. SNI is required for standalone DVDs, BDs, and powered speakers. However, the principle also needs to refer to Article 1 to confirm whether SNI is mandatory according to the HS code as the first element.
- AV products that include a USB interface for playing music also force SNI
- The DC-powered DC input portable speaker, as a stand-alone unit, is also mandatory for SNI.
