THE USS Danger (AM-240) is a Respectable class minesweeper produced in World War II in the United States, built by the Winslow Sea Railroad and Shipbuilding Company in Washington, D.C., launched on October 1, 1944, commissioned on December 30, and belonged to the Pacific Fleet.

Equipped with metal wire and acoustic minesweepers, the ship can also perform anti-submarine, patrol and escort missions. In service, it escorted fleets from San Francisco to Pearl Harbor to Eniwittok and Ulrich. In March 1945, the minesweeper was sent to Okinawa on an anti-submarine patrol mission, and by the end of World War II, it had cleared the waters from Korea to Japan, and had received 3 combat stars for its service experience.

In 1946, Danger returned to China and retired to join the reserve fleet. In 1971, a group of Omaha merchants purchased it from the Naval Registry and later exhibited it as a museum ship in Liberty Park, east of Omaha, off the Missouri River.
