At first, the strike action of the Talabat riders was ready for Tuesday, when they were contacting authorities and looking for a solution, but an unknown number of riders advanced the strike.

It is well known that the strike is illegal in Dubai, and the takeaway platform Deliveroo saw a similar situation last week, and the company finally canceled the salary cut plan due to operational pressure.

Talabat riders earn an average of around AED 3,500 a month, and the company employs around 20,000 riders nationwide, and it's unclear how many have taken part in the strike.

Riders say they are paid around AED 7.5 per order delivered, which is lower than Deliveroo's AED 10.25 per order.

On social media, Talabat riders said they needed at least AED 10/single to continue working.
