Jiajing built the octagonal warehouse in the fourth year (1525) and expanded it in six years. In the fifteenth year of the Wanli Calendar (1587), the brick fort circle has a circumference of 4 miles, a height of 3 meters and 5 feet, and three gates: east, west and south.
There are no octagonal pavilions and no other octagonal buildings in the octagonal fort, but why it is called "octagonal" There is a legendary story here: the original site of the octagonal fort is in the northeast of the current city, the ruins of the earthen fort, the inner flat wall, square. Legend has it that the surrounding earthen walls have been built and bricks are being prepared, and one night the migrant workers suddenly found a five-colored aura floating from the north and landed on the wooden stake of the city-building mark, and a five-colored fox loomed in the aura. For a moment, the aura drifted away with the fox. The next day, the construction mark was gone. Officials and migrant workers searched in the direction where the aura drifted last night, only to find that the wooden sleigh had been inserted a mile south of the city. They lifted the wooden sleigh, and a gush of spring water gushed out. The officials immediately ordered the migrant workers to dig wells, but when they saw that the water source was strong and the spring water was sweet, they looked around, the north was high and the south was low, easy to defend and difficult to attack, so they built a new city according to the wooden sleigh. After the castle was built, it took the harmonic sound of "pulling out the bridge" and named it Octagonal Fort.

The wind is still. The stupa slowly rose from the ground, a rainbow broke through the sky, people looked for the octagonal bell at the top of the tower to look far away, only to see a rainbow tied to the top of the stone tower, and a colorful cloud floated away at the base of the tower, but they did not know where to fly. The stupa is one of the few key cultural relics in Shenchi County, the only one in the county, according to the "Shenchi County Chronicle", this stupa was built during the Northern Wei Dynasty, its ancient appearance and decoration is the embodiment of Chinese national culture and Buddhist culture.
9. Ruins of the Ming Great Wall
