In Doctor Strange 2: Crazy Multiverse, Doctor Strange will take the audience through countless universes and encounter the various characters who live in them.

People want to see cameos of various superheroes in the movie, so before the movie was released, all kinds of speculation and rumors spread on the Internet.
The most famous of these speculations is that Tom Cruise will appear as another version of Iron Man.
To the disappointment of many fans, however, this did not happen and will not happen in the future.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the film's screenwriter, Michael Waldron, revealed why Tom Cruise did not appear in the film as Iron Man.
Asked if Atango playing Iron Man was just a fan rumor, Waldron replied:
"Yes, that's a complete fabrication. ”
However, the screenwriter seemed intrigued by the idea after hearing the rumor online, as he explained:
"I mean, there's no clip of Tom Cruise! But I love Tom Cruise, and I once said to Kevin Feige, I thought, can we get Tom Cruise's Iron Man? I remember reading that day in "Ain't It Cool News" that Tom Cruise was going to be Iron Man. ”
However, Brother Atang never really came up with the idea, because he was busy making Mission Impossible 7 and 8. As Waldron puts it: "Given its possibilities, I don't think it's an option." ”
Prior to Robbit Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Atango had been the first choice for the role, and although he did participate in the character's negotiations, he was rejected. Having him play the role he had rejected in Doctor Strange 2 was too tempting for fans, and now it turns out to be just a rumor.
While the idea is interesting, it's just an interesting concept for people at Marvel Studios.
So unfortunately, it seems that there will be no Tom Cruise's version of Iron Man in any universe.
