Florence Nightingale (12 May 1820 – 13 August 1910) was an English nurse and statistician. Born in Florence, Italy, to a family from British high society.

After studying nursing in Germany, Nightingale worked in a hospital in London. In 1853 he became head nurse at the London Charity Hospital. During the Crimean War, she sought from the British military to open a hospital in the field and provide medical care to soldiers. She has analyzed the mountain of military archives and pointed out that in the Crimean War, the cause of British death was infection outside the battlefield, and after being wounded on the battlefield without proper care and seriously injured to death, not many people actually died on the battlefield. She even used circular diagrams to illustrate these materials. On 21 October 1854, Nightingale and 38 nurses went to work at the Crimean Field Hospital, where he became the head nurse and became known as the "Angel of Crimea". Nightingale often toured the wards with lights in the dark of night, and was also known as "The Lady with the Lamp".

On August 13, 1910, Nightingale died in his sleep at the age of 90.

Because of Nightingale's contribution, the former low-status nurses, social status and image have been greatly improved, becoming a symbol of nobility. "Nightingale" has also become synonymous with the spirit of nurses, and International Nurses Day was set up on May 12 to commemorate the founder of modern nursing.
