Step into Shakespeare's birthplace

author:World Heritage tour

On December 7, 2014, I made a pilgrimage to Stratford, England, where I had longed to visit Shakespeare's house. The town sits on the banks of the River Avon, where the great Renaissance dramatist and poet Shakespeare (1564-1616) was born. This beautiful town on the banks of the Avon River gives people an incredibly moving feeling and is a place of pilgrimage that the world yearns for. When you come to the small town of Stratford, you have entered the world of Shakespeare, the town of Stratford-upon-Avon is known as the main cultural attraction in the United Kingdom because it is the birthplace and burial place of the great writer Shakespeare.

The beautiful River Aven runs through the town, where the natural landscape is enchanting, full of lush vegetation and flowers. The town of Stratford is full of rows of timber-framed houses built in the 16th century, antique, and the Victorian and Gothic buildings are thick and elegant. On the banks of the River Evans next to stratford town, a bronze seated statue of Shakespeare stands on top of a tall column. Surrounded by four statues of figures from Shakespeare's plays, they are Forstaff in Henry IV, Madame Macbeth in Macbeth, The Crown Prince in Henry V, and Hamlet in Hamlet.

Located on The town of Henley Street, Shakespeare House is a two-story Tudor-style building that has been around for more than 400 years. Although this former residence has been weathered by storms and repaired several times, it has always maintained its 16th-century style. Shakespeare was born here and spent his childhood and later years. Here I felt the beauty of that refreshing literature. Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway, is a very typical British classical farmhouse, about a 1.5 km walk from Shakespeare's House. The farmhouse is located in an elegant hill house next to a green grove, the walls are decorated in black and white, still in the same way, and the backrest bench by the fireplace is said to be the place where Shakespeare and his wife exchanged heartfelt feelings before marriage. As the times pass, the sweetness and warmth of the past can still be faintly felt between the tentacles.

At the intersection of Henry Street in the town stands a sculpture of the clown's exaggerated and lively shape from Shakespeare's comedy "Everybody Rejoices", located on the north side of Henry Street, a medieval Tudor style two-story house with a wooden frame, a slope tile roof, and a dirt original color façade, which is Shakespeare's former home, which has a history of more than 400 years. Shakespeare was born here in 1564 and spent his childhood and later years. All traces of his life in this small town have been preserved intact. Stratford was famous for Shakespeare, who was worshipped by posterity for creating the most beautiful love story in the world.

Although the former residence has been weathered by storms and repaired several times, it has always maintained the style of the 16th century. Shakespeare's House is a restored 16th-century wooden truss house with a sloping tile roof, earthy facades, and protruding windows and doorway silhouettes that make the building stand out. Shakespeare's father bought the two-story house, half as a house and half as a handicraft workshop. Shakespeare was born here, where he spent his childhood and later years.

At the entrance to the house is a small exhibition hall with Shakespeare's writings, statues, etc., and on the walls are texts and photographs introducing Shakespeare and his family. The museum of the former residence displays coins from that year, IOUs borrowed from Shakespeare by friends, Shakespeare's handwriting, Shakespeare's desk when he was a child at grammar school, and a well-preserved first edition of Shakespeare's Complete Works. Known as "the most important book of English literature", this book contains 36 of Shakespeare's plays.

Inside the attic, from the living room, the kitchen, the living room, the storeroom, the sheepskin glove workshop, to the room where Shakespeare was born on the second floor. It is said that the furniture and furnishings inside are arranged as they were. On the ground floor is the living room and kitchen, where the fire in the fireplace is still burning, and bread, steaks and knives and forks are placed on the dining table. His father, who made leather gloves, displayed many leather objects where his father worked; upstairs was the bedroom and study, and the master bedroom on the second floor was the room where Shakespeare was born, with wooden beds, cradles and old-fashioned furniture on display.

On April 23, 1564, Shakespeare was born into a wealthy family. Shakespeare's father bought and sold leather gloves and wool, and was a local official in the town. He entered grammar school to study literature, rhetoric, and Latin. During the time of Queen Elizabeth I, theatre troupes often came to the small town of Stratford to perform. Shakespeare felt amazing, and he fell in love with theater. When he was 14 years old, his family declined, and he had to interrupt his studies and go out to earn a living. In 1582, at the age of 18, Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, an 8-year-older woman, and a few years later he traveled to London. Around 1586, Shakespeare decided to set out for London in search of his theatrical path.

Romeo and Juliet was the first shakespeare I came into contact with, and I traveled to Italy twice in 2003 and 2015, and visited Verona, Romeo and Juliet's hometown twice. Set against the backdrop of Verona's cruel family feuds in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, Shakespeare created the eternal love play Romeo and Juliet, which has been performed since its performance in 1595, and the love story of Romeo and Juliet has swept the world with its poignant love and touched countless people. Verona's Juliet House has become a mecca for young men and women around the world. There is a Shakespeare Road in the city that bears shakespeare's name. The ancient city of Verona, which still retains the traditional Roman town pattern, is a World Heritage City.

Holy Trinity Church was the place where Shakespeare was baptized and buried. Shakespeare's family cemetery is located inside the Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare, his wife Anne Hathaway, his eldest daughter Susannah Hall, his eldest son-in-law, Dr. John Hall, and his granddaughter's first husband, Thomas Nash, are laid to rest. It's lush, lush and quiet. Entering the church hall, on the left is the altar, in front of which there is a tombstone, that is, Shakespeare's grave, in order to ensure that his tomb is not disturbed, the stone on the surface of the tomb is carved with the following words: "Friend, for the sake of Jesus, here is not to be excavated." Those who do not hinder My rest will be blessed, and those who move My bones will be cursed. "On the left wall of the altar is a bust of Shakespeare. The heavens and the earth are leisurely, and what is immortal is the soul of culture; the years are hurried, and the eternal is the life of art.
