In the nearly 30 years of work, he has gradually grown from a distant-water fishing vessel processor to a captain, and has become an Expert in Antarctic Krill Prospecting, undertaking a number of key topics. In 2009, Yang Dejun went to antarctic waters to undertake the task of exploring and hunting Antarctic krill. When entering the Antarctic fishery, the density of krill, the speed of the net, and the location of the shrimp population are all unknown, and the fishing results are not ideal.
In 2012, Yang Dejun was appointed as the captain of the "Fu Rong Hai" ship, and once again rushed to the Antarctic sea, using satellite remote sensing data, combined with the actual hydrological situation of the fishery, to determine the migration route of Antarctic krill, and developed a set of "Yang's shrimp method".
In 2022, Yang Dejun won the National May Day Labor Medal. Driven by Yang Dejun, a group of young crew members of the Liaoyu Group sank their hearts and took root in the front line of distant-water fishing operations, riding the wind and waves, and their hearts were deep in the sea.
