It is also recorded: "This species is used for medicinal purposes, and has the effect of warming the kidneys and aphrodisiacs, strengthening the muscles and bones, and dispelling wind and cold." It is used to treat impotence, premature ejaculation, urinary incontinence, joint cold pain, menstrual irregularities and other symptoms. ”

The use of Epimedium, in addition to the medicinal value is constantly being excavated, there are also some people who substitute it for tea or use it to make wine.

Check the "Chinese Medicinal Materials Heaven and Earth Network", only Gansu and Northeast Epimedium varieties, the market price is relatively high, the northeast should be the North Korean Epimedium, and Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi and other real estate of Epimedium varieties are less valuable (dry products less than 20 yuan a pound). Therefore, Sichuan, Guishan, and Shaanxi, which has a high planting success rate, are not attractive due to low prices, while Gansu and Northeast China are more difficult to achieve planting, resulting in today's Epimedium basically relying on the supply of wild resources. May and June are the seasons for digging for Epimedium.

At present, the Dandong area has just begun to try large-scale under-forest planting, it is necessary to dig a large number of wild seedlings from the mountain forest, resulting in a soaring price, it is said that the wild seedlings per kilogram (fresh weight) has been nearly 200 yuan, in the mountain forest also encountered several diggers, they said that some time ago there were too many diggers, and now it is difficult to guess the digging.

It is hoped that artificial cultivation will soon be well supplied so that natural plant resources will not be destroyed.
