Chinese athletes have achieved good results through training in the United States, and the root cause is back to the new round of Olympic cycle coach selection opened by the Chinese Athletics Association during November 2021. Li Li, a Chinese coach who served as the team leader of the American track and field team and the head coach of the men's team during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, was invited to serve as the head coach of the national middle and long-distance running program during the Paris Olympic games cycle.

According to the terms of cooperation, Coach Li Li is responsible for coaching outstanding domestic middle and long-distance runners, arranging training and preparation, and coordinating and participating in the selection of coaches, team formation, group discussions, international exchanges, and foreign training competitions of each group of the national long-distance running national team. As early as 2006 to 2015, many groups of domestic middle-distance running teams rushed to Tucson, the United States, where Li Li is located, to receive short-term training from Li Li.

A relaxed environment stimulates good grades

During the Paris Olympic Games cycle, the Chinese Athletics Association adopted the method of association and club tackling tough problems for men's and women's middle-distance running, marathon and race walking, etc., to provide a more flexible training environment and conditions for domestic athletes. Li Li not only serves as the head coach of China's middle and long-distance running, but also serves as the head coach of E-House Club. At the beginning of April, Chinese middle-distance runners landed at the American training camp hosted by Li Li, and although the training time was not long, the relaxed training and competition environment still stimulated everyone to improve their status and performance.
