It is not too late for The Whole World War: Warhammer 3 to announce the 2022 update roadmap

Total War: Warhammer 3 has been in a gradual decline since its release, due to the CA's slow patching schedule and update rate. Just now CA released the 2022 update roadmap, let's see what kind of pie CA has drawn for players this time.

Official Tweet:

It is not too late for The Whole World War: Warhammer 3 to announce the 2022 update roadmap

Q2 2022

After our massive 1.1 update, we plan to release a stable new version. We're fixing bugs and optimizing for the current version, and we're also ready to add new items, and we'll continue to expand your battlefield arsenal over time.

Update 1.2 (May)

Later next month, we will release the 1.2 upgrade. Since we're still in the first few months after the game's release, the new version will continue to focus on implementing fixes for bugs reported by the community, and we're working to make the game better and better.

As May approaches, we are working to resolve several key bugs:

Ai faction towns are rebuilding too quickly

Flying units encounter some different bugs when engaging land units. One of the worst bugs can cause them to get stuck in a fight and not react.

Another notable issue is that long-range units are sometimes idle despite a clear shooting arrangement for the enemy. We will teach them how to participate in battle in time by tweaking the long-range AI.

The Demon Faction automatically declares war on the Slanesh vassals, which leads to a diplomatic imbalance in the game, affecting both the AI and the player, which is something we are grappling with.

Factions of AI with anti-player biases, ai will usually focus on the player despite the more dangerous enemies to deal with. We hope to implement the first fix for this issue in the release.

When running the game with certain settings, the visual glow of the snow scene is too intense. We've made some tweaks and will be watching for feedback after the update.

In terms of difficulty settings, the difficulty level of automatic battles has been reduced and will now be determined by the battle difficulty setting rather than the campaign difficulty setting.

This will be a long-term project for improving the response capabilities of combat units, and we hope to further improve the response capabilities of troops when they are ordered to engage enemy forces. This includes ensuring that units do not go dormant when they should contribute to a very sustained battle.

Many players notice problems with their large/hero units when fighting other heroes on the battlefield. Our goal is to improve their behavior to ensure they are in proper contact with the enemy and to make them truly feel their presence.

Leaderboard reset, in order to address the issue that caused a small number of players to reach the top of the leaderboard by accident, and taking into account the significant balance changes that occurred in 1.1 and 1.2, we will reset the leaderboard at the same time as updating 1.2.

Q3 2022

After update 1.2, we have one last targeted update before moving on to the next major game version. Update 1.3 will give us another opportunity to fix and fix issues reported by players, while also bringing a second Legion of Fame unit package to the list.

Since 1.3 is a future release, we are still working out a list of specific changes that will be included. That said, here are some of the things that this release is already working on:

Improved formation attacks, formation attack capabilities should now be stronger in frontal engagements, which means that when troops are in combat, there should be more entities involved in combat.

Skill tree rework, following the technology tree rework in Update 1.2, we will begin to dive into the various skill tree updates for various characters and races in Update 1.3.

Increasing the frequency of field battles as a cornerstone of the Total War: Warhammer experience, we wanted to see more field battles throughout the campaign. Therefore, we are working hard to increase their frequency.

Battle-related fixes, and as we continue to improve unit responsiveness and interaction in combat, we will continue to focus on combat encounters in the game. As we get closer to 1.3, please pay attention to more details!

Total War Mod Kit, the last piece of the puzzle that empowers our amazing community mods. Release of Total War Mod Kits: These tools allow for easy creation of new mods in Total War: Warhammer 3 games. Our goal is to release the assembly kit in the third quarter of this year and will provide more details as we approach its arrival.

Update 2.0

The next major content milestone is UPDATE 2.0. Not only have the game been continuously improved (i.e. bug fixes, balance tweaks, system tweaks, etc.), but also new major content additions to change the landscape of Total War: Warhammer III. In this case...

Immortal Empire [Beta]

Mortal Empire is a much-loved addition to Total War: Warhammer II, and Update 2.0 will introduce the first iteration of the Warhammer III game mode. Officially known as Immortal Empire, the mode will merge all three Warhammer games' maps and factions (for those who own them) into one: allowing you to deploy your favorite factions on a huge combo battlefield.

This initial phase will allow us to focus on updating balances, maps, matches and other areas, and we can continue to make adjustments based on feedback from players. Ensure that it meets (and exceeds) expectations over the long term. Our plan is to continue to update the model over a few years, and we want to make sure those who are excited to play it have the opportunity to get involved and share in its success.

There's a lot to unravel about the Immortal Empire, so as we get closer to its beta, you can also expect more news about it. Over the next few months, we'll be sitting down with The Game's DLC Game Director, Richard Aldridge, so we can share his insights on the project. We also want to set up some AMA with the team before the beta (if they're not too busy), so stay tuned for more news later!

Old World Update I: Chaos Warriors

Starting with Update 2.0, we'll be looking to overhaul some settings that weren't previously inherited from Warhammer 1 or Warhammer 2 to "keep up" with the new mechanics in Warhammer 3. These "Old World Updates" include the introduction of new systems, units, functions, and balances that make them a more powerful force on the battlefield. In Update 2.0, this move began with Chaos Warrior.

Blood Pack III

The Blood Pack for Total War: Warhammer III adds tons of new particles and visuals to the game. Owners of previous blood packs, Warhammer 1 or Warhammer 2, will automatically unlock. Similarly, unlocking a new package will also unlock it in the first two games.

Lords Pack I

Our first DLC package was also released along with Update 2.0. The Lords Pack introduces several new Legendary Lords, Lords, Heroes, and various units that can be deployed in large campaigns and multiplayer scenarios. Please keep an eye out for more information, including more information about the four champions who joined the list.

Q4 2022

Update 2.1

As we enter the final quarter of 2022, we plan to make our first regular updates after launching all new content in the third quarter. UPDATE 2.1 gives us the opportunity to organize the game version with additional tweaks, continue to expand the Immortal Empire battlefield when players first experience it, and have the opportunity to react and respond to community feedback after release. While exact details remain to be determined, here's an overview you can expect:

Update 2.1

Joined Regiment III.

Update 2.2 or 3.0

Our goal is to bring the final release together to end the year in the fourth quarter! This will be a major release (UPDATE 3.0), or it may be a smaller UPDATE 2.2 release with its own set of content and patches. Whichever path we choose, one of the main focuses will be the Immortal Empire game mode, which will see "significant" improvements in the final release of the year.

As the fourth quarter approaches, we'll obviously have more to share and will make sure we highlight more of the upcoming content in our game status post later this year!

On the whole, the plans listed by CA are still very detailed, but I believe that players who have experienced more than two months of long grass period will certainly not easily fall on CA. Just as the so-called mule is a horse pulled out of the slip, the specific update quality, but also depends on the CA's practical ability. Let's hope that CA will not live up to the expectations of players.
