More suitable for street racing
The body becomes narrower and shorter and reduces by 60 kg. The biggest change in the new car comes from the powertrain. Gen3 became the first Formula car to have both front and rear powertrains. The new 250kW front axle powertrain, together with the existing 350kW rear axle powertrain, forms a capacity output and recovery mechanism of up to 600kW. As a result, the design team also decided that the rear wheels of the GEN3 race car would no longer use the design of hydraulic brakes, which wrote a new history of Formula racing.
Another new technology introduced is "Super Fast Charging", which has a charging power of up to 600kW, which is almost twice the power of the most efficient household charging piles today. This technology will make "in-race charging" possible.
Gen3's only official test driver, former Le Mans champion Driver Benoit Treluyer, was full of praise for the GEN3 car. Focus on sustainability
Natural and recycled materials have appeared on gen3 racing cars.
First, hemp fiber and carbon fiber recovered from the "decommissioned" GEN2 body will reduce gen3's carbon footprint by 10%. Second, natural rubber and recycled fibers will account for 26% of tire materials. Third, the raw materials for GEN3 batteries are recyclable metals, and the battery products will be recycled after reaching the service life. Since then, gen3 will be the first "carbon neutral" car, and FE will also be the first car race to achieve "carbon neutrality".
