Few people care about how much money they spend on video games in total, and All Home Connections recently conducted a survey.
The survey was 1,000 U.S. gamers who learned about their age, monthly expenses, and video game spending compared to travel and fitness. Of course, the survey did not take into account the special impact of the epidemic.
According to the survey results, the U.S. players spend about $76 (about 497 yuan) a month on games, with a total historical spending average of $58,000 (370,000 yuan). Millennials (post-00s) spend the most on games, at about $86 a month, and $66,000 in history. After all, they grew up in the era of the booming Internet, the video game industry has changed dramatically, and they make more money than the Z generation (post-95s) people. Gen Xers (1965-1980) and baby boomers (1945-1965) spend relatively little on games and may be busy spending money on travel or fitness.
All Home Connections has calculated how much money we can make in retirement if we don't spend cash on games but save it. Benchmarked at a 6% annual return, Gen Z earns about $285,000 by age 65, Gen X at $221,000, baby boomers at $185,000, and millennials over $307,000.
Of course, video games are already relatively "cheap" entertainment methods compared to outdoor sports and others, and All Home Connections has not considered the problem that going out to surf may be more expensive. And to make a choice for veteran players, 300,000 or play games like Eldon's Ring of Law every day, of course, the latter is better.
