At the end of November 2016, Joel Guy Sr. and Lisa Guy planned one last Thanksgiving celebration (via Fun Things) at their home in Knoxville, Tennessee. According to Oxygen, the couple has decided to retire and move to East Tennessee. They were married for 31 years and had four children — three daughters and a son, Little Joel Guy. However, Soap Boxie noted that the daughter was from a previous marriage from Old Guy; Little Guy was the couple's only child. Born in 1988, Little Guy is arguably a freelancer and a hermit.

His half-sister later said he rarely, if any, left his room (according to WVLT). At the age of 28, he lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He dropped out of Louisiana State University to be financially supported by his parents. Boston 25 News reported that Little Guy rushed from Baton Rouge to Knoxville to celebrate the holiday with his family. His sisters said everything was normal; they couldn't foresee what Little Guy was going to do next.

On November 26, 2016, when his mother was out shopping (via KIRO 7), he violently stabbed his father 42 times. According to WVLT, Lao Gai's lungs, liver and kidneys suffered widespread injuries. When his mother returned home, Little Cover continued to stab her 31 times, cutting off 9 of her ribs. Shockingly, this was only the beginning of his evil deeds.

The authorities encountered a terrible scene

Boston News 25 wrote that after killing his parents, Joel Gay Jr. returned to Baton Rouge. When Lisa didn't show up at her job shortly after, her boss called her and got no response. She felt something was wrong and informed the authorities. Soap Boxie reported that someone had asked for a welfare check at Guy's house. When the police walked in, they found blood spattering the walls and floor (via Funny Things). According to WVLT, Little Guy dismembered his parents after killing them. The heating was turned on and the body fragments were scattered throughout the home. Some are even placed in Tupperware containers.

Old Gai's wrists, arms, legs and right foot were severed. His hands were found on the floor of a bedroom. As for Lisa, her legs and arms were also amputated. The limbs are then placed in chemicals that try to dissolve them. Both of their torsos were placed in the bathroom, and Lisa's head was found boiling in a pot on the stove. One detective said (according to WVLT): "I will never erase these smells from my mind or my dreams." Although Joel Jr. did not immediately get into their sights, Oxygen Corp. wrote that a disturbing discovery made him their prime suspect.

Joel Guy's Fallen Notebook

While authorities traveled to Baton Rouge to talk to Joel Gay Jr. about the murder of his parents, investigators found a notebook (according to oxygen net) at Guy's home. According to WVLT, the notebook was found a few days ago where Little Joel slept. It includes obscene details of how he planned to kill and deal with his parents. Some of the notes read: "Take the knife that kills" and "Flush large chunks of stuff into the toilet instead of garbage disposal" (via WVLT). All That's Interesting reported that he also wrote about forging alibis.

In addition, boston 25 News noted that Xiao Gai's receipt was later found to have been used to purchase chemicals that were used in crude attempts to dissolve the remains of his parents. Soapboxie explained that Xiao Gai was arrested in Baton Rouge only a day after his parents' bodies were found. Detectives also found a dog bone with chemicals in the bathtub. It appears that the small cap is testing how long it takes for the bone to dissolve. He was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder, felony murder and ill-treatment of a corpse.

The motivation is finance

According to Oxygengen, Little Joel Gay's notebook included information about who would inherit their money after his parents died. The motivation was clear — he wanted to get their $500,000 life insurance policy (according to Fun things). His notebook also notes that if his siblings died, his inheritance would be greater. Little Guy, 28, never had a job and dropped out of two universities. His parents funded his life in Baton Rouge and thought he needed to grow up. One of Guy's half-sisters said his mother "just worked to give him her paycheck" (according to Boston 25 News).

They decided that their retirement and subsequent relocation would be the end of their financial support for their son. They had already told his other siblings that they planned to sever ties with him. Although the family had planned to tell Gai during The Christmas period, it seemed that sooner or later they would tell him that this led to the killings. Xiao Gai's trial began in September 2020. Prosecutors said his notebook was all they proved guilty of. According to Oxygen, they call it the "Book of Premeditation."

JOEL GUY JR. He was sentenced to two life sentences

Throughout the murder trial, Little Joel Gay showed little emotion (through oxygen). According to The Boston 25 News, the death of his parents was premeditated, and it is already very clear. Prosecutors showed Joel's notebook and said he had cold-bloodedly killed them for their huge life insurance. Prosecutors went on to explain that Little Guy planned to dissolve their bodies after dismembering them. However, he was injured in a fierce struggle with Lao Gai, which led him to turn to Baton Rouge. Jurors saw clear photos and videos of the horrific crime scene.

According to WVLT, detectives recount their harrowing experience of entering Guy's home and seeing fragments of corpses scattered. Detective Jeremy McCord testified that it was the worst case he had ever encountered and that he could not understand everything he had witnessed. He explained grimly that he "saw the hands ... It has nothing to do with the corpse". According to Boston News 25, prosecutors later described the crime scene as an "evil stew of human remains."

Nearly four years after the tragic death of his parents, Gai was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree felony murder, and two counts of physical abuse. At the age of 32 at the time, he was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences.

JOEL GUY JR. And his disturbing prison fantasies

Shortly after his conviction, WATE reported that Joel Guy Jr. had written a letter saying he wanted to hurt a fellow inmate. The letter describes the idea that he wanted to gouge out the man's eyes while he was sleeping (via WBIR). In addition, Little Guy said, there was nothing to stop him, as he could easily accomplish the task with his hands. He went on to say (according to WATE), "I shouldn't be allowed to reach out to another person when they're unconscious.".

While Xiao Gai said he wrote the letter to prevent such behavior from happening, officials believe it was nothing more than a ruse to get his own cell. They argue that this proves his manipulative nature and points out that he had previously demanded the death penalty for his own cell. As for his half-sisters, Oxygen wrote that they could not forgive him for what he had done. Shockingly, they omitted him from his parents' obituary (according to Boston 25 News).
