Dissatisfied with the historical painting emphasis placed by the Academy, she spent a brief time at the École des étenciques des Artists in 1894-1895, where she went to Rome to study in 1896 and moved to Paris the following year, where she attended Académie Colarossi and spent summers in Brittany. She then returned to Stockholm to complete her studies at the Artists' Association School.

She is remembered for her farm and interior scenes, but did not reach its peak until 1941, when she attracted attention based on her realist work at a gallery in Stockholm based on her work on realism at the end of the 19th century.

Bager's paintings can be said to have been strongly influenced by the times, largely determined by the basic education she received in the doctrine of realism in the 1880s. At the same time, a renewed ability is also very evident, in the painting, the ancient form is full of depth and meditation, she puts the study of life and nature above everything. In addition to the Influence of the French 1880s, the Dutch, Chardin, and French and Danish features of the early 19th century can be seen in the 17th century. However, her art also points to the concentration of simplified and unified forms of painting, especially in interior scene painting. Bag also painted portraits and landscapes.
