Although many interviewees mentioned that the neighborhood committee of the community registers the situation of the elderly living alone, it will do some tilt when distributing materials, and some owners will leave more materials in the neighborhood committee, and specially explain that please send them to the orphans and elders in the community. However, after nearly a month of sealing and control, it is more difficult to survive by relying solely on the materials distributed by the neighborhood committee.
"Positive Connection" once counted the situation of 51 elderly households living alone during the period of sealing and control. In a demolition and resettlement house without an elevator in Pudong New Area, there are 10 families living alone, and Grandma Bao is the only old man in this building who has tried group buying, and after five minutes of joining the group, she was kicked out because she would not change the nickname of the group. In statistics, there are still many elderly people who do not have smart phones.
The elderly in Shanghai are introverted and polite, and they do not ask for people until they have to. How is "necessary" defined?
Almost every community has a "non-essential group buying" clause in the group buying regulations. Several respondents mentioned that the community will help the elderly in need dispense medicines. Including some elderly people who may need medical treatment, the neighborhood committee also uniformly allocates 120 and medical resources. ”
But the neighborhood committee can't help the elderly with all the medicines they need. Aunt Yao is an elderly person who is very good at using smart phones, can send WeChat, will use small programs, as soon as the electronic medical insurance card comes out, she will immediately learn, and also teach the neighbor little girl. She said: "Because I hate queuing the most!" Every time she went to the hospital, she made an appointment on the app the day before, "The next day, I went out in the car." One of the interviewees lived in a "hit worker" in his neighborhood, who usually did not cook, and there were no pots and pans at home. Before the closure, there was less hoarding, and then asked for help from a volunteer organization, which asked everyone to donate some things, and some people donated a pot.
According to the results of the group shopping products, people who have bought bread most often buy a variety of quick-frozen foods. This may reveal a different eating habit: don't cook, just eat the food - no seasoning, no need to worry about cooking, just eat enough.
In addition to being well fed, people have all kinds of "non-essential" needs. For example, drinking a bottle of Coke, smoking a cigarette (although it is harmful to health), playing indoor badminton, and touching the soft fur of a kitten.
This has given rise to a "flea market" of barter. There are more casual, as long as you say a word in the group, if someone is willing to change, make a deal, put it at the door and wait for the people who need it to take it. Some are more formal, and the friends in the Kindi building have set up a material exchange table with online documents, on which all those who want to change things can register.
