Born on October 17, 1989 in the slums of São Paulo, Brazil, Charles Oliveira was diagnosed at an early age with an abnormal heart murmur and rheumatoid arthritis, which doctors at one point showed could have deprived him of basic standing ability. This was the darkest time for him, his parents chose to work in the field in order to earn him enough medical expenses, waking up from the hospital every day with no one around to talk about the pain, until the age of 11 Oliveira was discharged from the hospital, but the doctor still advised him not to do physical exercise.
As a child, Oliveira loved football, and injuries did not kill him. He began to be exposed to jiu-jitsu, and his hard work and talent quickly earned him the first gold medal in his life.
Oliveira officially entered the boxing gym for training at the age of 12. Maybe it was to change his life against the sky, or it could be that he really fell in love with the sport and he began to work hard to train. But heaven often likes to joke, and bad news comes when everything is moving in a good direction. At the age of 14, Oliveira received bad news from his family that his father had been accidentally shot and killed. This was even more fatal for the ill-fated Oliveira.

Originally, UFC Oliveira chose the sub-middle welterweight but in this weight he did not have an advantage, so he chose the lightweight but the performance did not feel eye-catching, so he was relegated to the featherweight. However, due to the excessive weight gap between weight and featherweight in life, he failed to lose weight several times, so he returned to the lightweight level. At this point, he began his journey towards the championship
