In the early morning of August 6, 1965, in the famous "Eighty-Six" naval battle, a number of People's Navy frigates with a displacement of only more than 100 tons faced the powerful US-made Chiang Kai-shek ship, and sailor Mai Xiande was seriously injured and his blood and brain plasma stuck to his eyes, but he still endured the pain and insisted on fighting for three hours until the end of the battle.
The shrapnel was removed from Mai Xiande's skull after 4 surgeries.
Today, the small boat that was "fighting bayonets" at sea has long since withdrawn from the stage of history. New strategic nuclear submarines, the first domestically produced aircraft carrier, large destroyers, and comprehensive supply ships have been listed one after another, carrier-based fighters have been delivered in batches, early warning aircraft and ship-borne helicopters have added new members, and new anti-submarine patrol aircraft have made up for the shortcomings of the people's navy's anti-submarine operations.
