On May 9, 2021, the Snooker Elders World Championship ended in Crucible. 45-year-old England veteran David Leary beat Jimmy White 5-3 in the final to win the only and final title of his career. The win will bring Liri a £15,000 prize money for the title, as well as a ticket to the Champions of Champions invitational tournament in Bolton in November.

The Senators World Championships were held in Crucible on 6-9 May and featured 16 players from six countries and regions, including Hendry, White, Walker, Morgan, Taylor, Dahdy and Figueredo. It was also the third consecutive year that the Senators World Championships had been played at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, after two years of winning the title by Jimmy White.
1985 World Championship champion Dennis Taylor, 72, lost 3-0 to Barry Pinches in the first round. After the game, Taylor held a short and grand "closing ceremony", Taylor will no longer participate in any competitive snooker competitions in the future, but he will still be active on the BBC's television screen as a commentator.
Hendry scored a single 66 points in the first round to easily beat 70-year-old Irish veteran Fagan 3-0. However, Hendry lost 4-1 in the second round to the active players and made the trial day in this year's World Championships qualifiers, and the latter had a brilliant 100-point performance in the match.
The final took place between two prospective pros, Jimmy White and David Leary. White defeated Tony Knowles, Darren Morgan and Igor Figueredo to reach the final of the World Veterans Championships for three consecutive years, while Liri qualified for the main tournament through the selection round and eliminated Philip Williams, Ken Dahadi and Pacreke Wallace on the way to the final.
In the final, Liri scored a single 77 points in the first set, then took a 3-0 lead, 4-2 to win the match point, and finally beat White 5-3 to win the World Veterans Championship. The 45-year-old Liri qualified professionally for the first time in 2019 and was relegated in 2021, the only and final title of His career. The win will bring Liri a £15,000 championship prize money, as well as a ticket to the Champions of Champions invitational tournament in Bolton in November.
After the victory, Liri was so excited that he told Rob Walker in an interview: "I was a little speechless, I didn't think I would be so excited. Jimmy is my hero – he's the hero of everyone. I really didn't know what to say, I was just so happy. "
