Givenchy Spring 2020 | Castle gardens

Givenchy Spring's Spring 2020 Haute Couture collection brings classic, haute and elegance back to the audience's attention, and celebrates freedom with a love letter dedicated to women.

Creative Director Clare Waight Keller drew inspiration from Woolf's book Orlando to use Sissinghurst Csatle Garden as a design element of the collection, presenting a romantic and poetic explosive series.

The collection brings a classic revival with rich floral language, the model blooms in the petals of the flower - this is the elegance, tenderness and romance exclusive to women, the traces of life, the conclusion of friendship, the cycle of seasons... The garden is the best recorder of all this, like a tapestry made up of time and space. Exaggerated ruffles define the season's couture silhouette, Elizabethan lace and duchess satin are given a distinct relief effect, and undulating multi-layered gowns and opera cloaks are filled with details of delicate flowers.

Sprouting from pure white camellias and tuberose, the pale hues of the white garden permeate the soft luster of silk, and even sharply cut suits have become exceptionally gentle this season.
