But how did Phan come to Singapore?

1979 Yongjia Road Police Station
In 1979, at the Yongjia Road police station in Shanghai, a sports journalist named Ji Yide came to visit.

Then, the reporter found a passport from 1930, this person is called Pan Deming, Shen Zhuang people, actually 90 years ago, went to dozens of countries?

Looking at the cover again, it was originally called the celebrity "Ink Collection".

Finally, four years later, in 1983, a documentary called "Globetrotting" was written by reporters, and the legend of Pan Deming was finally confirmed - 90 years ago, he really traveled around the world, the heads of state of the world really met him, US President Roosevelt also gave him a gold medal, and Hitler in Germany really met Pan Deming.

The story begins in the summer of 1927.
1927 Nanjing Fourth Arch Building
This year, 19-year-old Pan Deming took a fancy to a storefront in the Fourth Arch Building in Nanjing.
He has some savings in hand and plans to open a Western restaurant with his friends, called Happy Ridge Bar.
As for why he opened a Western restaurant, Pan Deming said in his letter that he had dreamed of traveling the world since he was a child.
But he believes that before traveling the world, you must be prepared for two things, one is to be proficient in language, and the other is to be physically awesome.
Needless to say, that year, when the National Games were held in Nanjing, Pan Deming watched the athletes jump high, one by one full of energy, but no one could jump over.
Pan Deming said next to him, this does not seem to be very high.
The person next to him choked him, and if you weren't high, you would go and try to jump.
Sure enough, Pan Deming jumped in a suit and leather shoes...
The second is language, Pan Deming has a high talent for language, he was stunned in nanjing, talking to various foreigners, learning several Chinese words.
The reason why I want to open a Western restaurant now is to further contact foreigners and practice speaking.
In the summer of 1930, Pan Deming saw the news in the newspaper about the Asia Minor Walking Group.
In its declaration, the walking group said that China is an ancient civilization with a history of 5,000 years.
But in modern times, known as the sick men of East Asia, China's new youth decided to conquer Asia on foot by telling the world that we are not sick men.
After reading this report, Pan Deming disappeared that day.

As a result, the regiment leader did not see it, so he let Pan Deming become a formal member of the regiment.
It turned out that the weather was too hot, 7 people set off, just walked to Hangzhou, there were 2 people who chose to quit...
Pan Deming was overjoyed.
But I didn't expect to leave Hangzhou for a few days, and another team member quit.
At this time, the walking group has not yet left Zhejiang Province, there are only five people left, and we finally found Pan Deming's figure in the photos of the walking group.
A month and a half later, the walking group reached Xiamen, where clashes broke out.
This conflict was recorded by Pan Deming in his own letter to his sister, saying that his sister, the walking group from Hangzhou to leave Xiamen, received a total of more than 900 yuan in donations, used more than 800 yuan, of which more than 300 yuan can not be used.
In the end, two people left the group because they were too good at spending public money and couldn't do things, and only three people were left on foot.
Four months later, the walking group arrived in Guangzhou.
Pan Deming obtained a replacement passport for going abroad in Guangzhou.
Then, travel through Haikou to Vietnam.
A crisis of extinction
Just after walking to Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, the walking group encountered a crisis of extinction.
Was it targeted by foreigners after going abroad?
On the contrary, overseas Chinese in Vietnam heard about the deeds of the walking group and donated money one after another, and the amount of donations was staggering.
Pan Deming said in the letter, sister, the regiment leader they do not want to leave Vietnam, and even said that if you go around in Southeast Asia, then the donations you get will not be used up for a lifetime, you are very uncomfortable, at first you think that money corrupts your faith, but later, at the meeting, he strongly recommended to go west and go to Africa, is not the place where the walking group has been bragging about having to go?
But the smiles they showed seemed to have been premeditated for a long time, and it turned out that they had never thought of going to places where there were no overseas Chinese...
In the end, he chose to leave the walking group and go alone.
When he went to Saigon, Phan Tak Ming bought a bicycle, and he was alone, could he really shame the title of the sick man of East Asia?

Singapore
On 13 March 1931, crossing the Straits of Johor by boat, Phan Tak Ming set foot on Singapore soil.
As is customary, if Pan de Ming wants to pass through Singapore, he must first visit the local Chinese consul general.
Only when the consul general issues a visa, Pan Deming can go to the next stop, otherwise, the visa expires and he can only return to China.
On this day, Pang Tak Ming came to the Consulate General of Singapore, handed over his business card, asked for a passport to be issued, and explained the purpose of his hike.

China in 1931 had also changed, the Japanese Kwantung Army was encroaching on Chinese territory, and the southern provinces were either fighting wars or flooding.
His parents at home also sent letters asking him to return home as soon as possible, and in the eyes of his parents, he was not doing his job after all.
Inside and out, everyone is small, and Pan Deming himself has begun to waver.
But at this time, a Singaporean overseas Chinese organization called the Shanghai Club found Pan Deming, who believed that Pan Deming was not a liar, he was a new youth, a new youth who could prove to the world that Chinese was not the sick man of East Asia.
So they took Pan Deming to meet the leader of Nanyang at that time, Hu Wenhu, who was the richest man in Nanyang and a media tycoon.
His Tiger Brand Wanjin Oil and Sin Chew Daily are still two well-known international brands.
And Hu Wenhu and Pan Deming were the same at first sight, although we don't know exactly what the two talked about, but we know that at that time, all the Singapore newspapers were talking about Pan Deming's story.

India

As early as 1924, Tagore visited China, accompanied by Lin Huiyin, Xu Zhimo, Liang Sicheng, and other top idols.
Tagore also gave a speech at Southeast University, where Pan Deming dreamed, but pan deming was only 16 years old at the time, and he was still a primary school apprentice in a tailor's shop, so naturally he could not meet with Master Tagore.

Tagore admired Pan Deming's feat, so he took the initiative to meet with Pan Deming.
It is said that when Tagore's students greeted Pan Deming, they used unimaginable etiquette, one by one, they leaned down, touched Pan Deming's shoes with their hands, and then put the dust on their hands to their mouths and kissed.
That afternoon, 23-year-old Pan Deming and Tagore chatted in English until late at night.
Then I flipped through the "Celebrity Ink Collection", and suddenly, on the next page, a magical name appeared- Mahatma Gandhi.
I really didn't expect that Pan Deming had also seen Gandhi?

Pan Deming thought he was dead, but when he had gone a long, long time ago, a minions came up and unlocked his eyes, and Pan Deming found that his luggage was all there, the gong, the book, the bicycle were not lost, the minions were gone, and he was already standing on the edge of the desert, seeing the city in the distance.
It turned out that this group of robbers not only did not embarrass themselves, but also deliberately sent themselves out of the desert.
Later, when he was in Tehran, a local friend answered Pan Deming's doubts - thieves also have a way, the robbers in the desert must be confirmed by the gong, Pan Deming is a kind traveler, because where there are fools who dare to cross the desert without a gun, it is clear that Pan Deming only wants to use the gong to guard against wild beasts, and has never thought of guarding against others, or hurting others.
When I heard this story, I suddenly thought of an archaeological legend, that is, why have Westerners not recognized China's ancient civilization?
Because, according to the three elements of their civilization, bronze, writing and city walls, all are indispensable.
However, the ancient ruins on the land of China obviously have a very high degree of civilization attainment, bronze, jade, and writing are not lacking, but the city wall cannot be found.
So Westerners have not recognized our ancient civilization.
Among them, some Central Asian scholars have proposed new ideas, they believe that ancient civilizations can replace the city walls with moats.
Because digging trenches, obviously like building walls, has the purpose of protecting tribes, so that the tribes in the trenches also have the attributes of cities.

In this way, Pan Deming came to Tehran, the capital of Persia at that time.

The attendant looked at Pan Deming's invitation letter and asked him to wait aside.
Unexpectedly, the Persian king Reza Khan personally came out to greet Pan Deming.
This Reza Khan was the persian king who appeared in the story of our bear warrior Woti, who was also an international leader at that time.
Like India and China, Persia also inherited the mantle of the four ancient civilizations, but at that time, it was also full of the pain of colonization.
The Reza Khan also wanted to get the ancient Persians back on their feet, so he offered to meet with Pan Deming.

Leaving Persia, Pan Deming came to Damascus, the cosmopolitan city of the time.

Egypt
In June 1932, Pan deming reached Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

So Pan deming went east to Ankara and met General Mustafa Kemal.

After leaving the United States, Pan deming traveled to Cuba, Panama, and then by boat to Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia.

On this day, Pan Deming returned to his hometown in Shanghai, just on July 6, 1938, and the next day, the July 7 Incident broke out and the all-out War of Resistance began.
Qinghai-Tibet suddenly could not go, and Pan Deming's oath and the hopes of overseas Chinese were all disappointed.
Three months later, Pan Deming sent a letter to overseas Chinese, saying that the Qinghai-Tibet inspection could not be honored, and the donation of 100,000 US dollars was all taken out by himself and donated to the anti-Japanese resistance.
Perhaps, Pan Deming believes that his round-the-world trip failed, and he failed to live up to his promise to overseas Chinese.
So, since then, he hasn't told anyone else his story.
At the same time, the war also destroyed people's memories and drowned the story with history.
