The 28th European Aquatic Processing Exhibition Seafood Expo Global will take place from 26 to 28 April at the Barcelona Convention And Exhibition Center, bringing together more than 1,527 exhibiting companies from 76 countries.

In these three days, Barcelona will become the largest aquatic processing trade platform in the industry and strengthen the strategic positioning of the event at the global level. Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, India, Ireland, Lithuania, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, the United States and Vietnam will attend the gathering in Barcelona.

Liz Plizga, Vice President of The Group at Diverified Communications, announced that the current net exhibition space at the 2022 show has exceeded 40,000 square meters and is still growing. 2019 is the largest edition of the European Aquatic Processing Exhibition. After three years without a face-to-face physical show, Barcelona will mark the return of the global seafood industry to face-to-face business and will welcome thousands of seafood suppliers and buyers from around the world.

High hopes for the industry

Seafood Expo Global is expected to have an economic impact of up to €100 million on Barcelona. "The exhibition will have a very positive impact on the local economy and will bring together industry participants, seafood buyers and sellers for a three-day networking, building business relationships, finding new products and sharing discussions on emerging trends in the seafood industry." Plizga noted.

There are currently more than 1,527 exhibiting companies at the show, who will showcase the latest developments in seafood, materials and equipment, processing equipment and services. For the first time, some industry leaders will participate, such as Profand Group, Maresmar SLU, Mascato, Mercamadrid, Mondini SpA, Grasselli SpA and Optima AS.

Other major players include AquaChile, Denholm Seafoods, Frime, Iberconsa, Iceland Seafood International, Krustagroup SAU, Sjor AS, Mowi ASA, Baader, Craemer GmbH, FoodTech Belgium, Marel and Ulma Packaging, among others.

Seafood Expo Global will bring together suppliers from around the world who will showcase the latest seafood processing products and technologies, including packaging materials and equipment, refrigerated and frozen supplies, primary and secondary processing equipment, and hygiene and quality assurance services.
