"District and County Interpretation" Yongchuan Xiuya shows the road of rural revitalization

From a leaf to an industry

In the early morning, in Baiyunsi Village, Yongrong Town, Yongchuan District, the mist lingers, and the lush tea fields are layered on top of each other.

Here the leaves sprout and come to the factory through the hands of the tea farmers. They will be the freshest raw materials for this year's Yongchuan Xiu buds.

From a leaf to an industry, Yongchuan tells a story about tea to a grand narrative of rejuvenating agriculture with tea, promoting trade with tea, and enriching the people with tea.

Doing a good job in the integration of tea industry, tea culture and tea economy, and promoting the tea industry to become a characteristic advantageous industry and a rich peasant income increase industry in the whole region - Yongchuan Xiuya has unfolded, which is a rural revitalization road with unique Yongchuan characteristics.

At present, in Huaguoshan Village, Da'an Street, Yongchuan District, Tan Tinghai's investment and construction of Yulin Tea Industry is a busy spring harvesting season. Tea-making equipment such as dryers, kneading machines, and green killing machines operate in an orderly manner, and the aroma of "Yongchuan Xiu buds" fills the entire workshop.

Tan Tinghai said that during the listing of Spring Tea in 2022, his company plans to release more than 10 new products and sign more than 10 new franchisees, and strive to achieve an average daily sales of more than 1 million yuan.

Born in the 1960s, Tan Tinghai was fortunate to witness and participate in the entire development history of "Yongchuan Xiuya".

From cultivating tea in the wilderness to participating in tea making, from purchasing and selling loose tea to standardized processing and large-scale production, Tan Tinghai has personally experienced the industrial growth of "Yongchuan Xiuya", and he himself has grown from a poor boy to a famous local leader in getting rich.

Like Tan Tinghai, the 67-year-old Tian Chaoshu is also a witness to the development of "Yongchuan Xiuya". His Yongrong Tea Factory is one of the largest and most profitable tea enterprises in Yongchuan District and even Chongqing City. Driven by him, Yongrong Town has planted more than 16,000 mu of tea, tea gardens cover the town, and more than 2,000 local tea farmers have reached more than 2,000 households, driving 11,000 people in the town to increase employment and income, and tea income accounts for 41% of the town's farmers' income.

The past and present lives of Hideya Nagakawa

Yongchuan and tea have a deep relationship. The history of its tea cultivation and production can be traced back to the Two Han Dynasties.

There are five major mountain ranges of Bayue Mountain, Jishan Mountain, Yingshan Mountain, Cucumber Mountain and Yunwu Mountain, and there are nearly 190,000 mu of land on these mountains suitable for tea cultivation.

The "Yongchuan County Chronicle" records that Bayue Mountain and Jishan Mountain were tea-producing areas in the early years of the Republic of China, with an annual output of about 34,000 kilograms of tea.

The innate resource advantage is destined to make the tea industry a bright color for the agricultural development of Yongchuan.

In the 1950s, the Tea Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (now the Tea Research Institute of the Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences) took a fancy to Yongchuan's vast tea planting space and land resources, and relocated from the then Sichuan Guanxian County to Yongchuan Jishan. Their arrival brought advanced science and technology to the Yongchuan tea industry, and also laid the foundation for the appearance of "Yongchuan Xiuya" after that.

In 1959, the Tea Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences began to develop needle-shaped tea in Yongchuan, and initially designated it as "Sichuan Xiuya".

On April 3, 1963, Zhu De inspected Yongchuan, praised Xiuya, and called for "asking for tea from the barren mountains."

In 1964, officially named by Professor Chen Rafter, a well-known tea expert in China, "Yongchuan Xiuya" has since become the endorsement of Yongchuan tea.

Today, "Yongchuan Xiuya" has obtained the national geographical indication certification trademark certification and has become an excellent regional public brand of tea in China. Through years of hard work, the brand value assessment has reached 2.491 billion yuan, ranking first in the city.

  The road to large-scale industry

In the impression of Tian Chaoshu, the person in charge of Yongrong Tea Factory, Yongchuan tea really began to embark on the road of scale and industrialization, which was the beginning of Yongchuan's tea industry as one of the main industries of modern characteristic and benefit agriculture. As a result, the development of Yongchuan tea industry has opened a new chapter.

In order to better and faster promote the development of the tea industry, Yongchuan District first strives to expand the scale of planting, and has introduced preferential policies such as base construction, seedling subsidies, planting subsidies, and three-year management subsidies to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers to grow tea.

For example, the measure of subsidizing 2,000 yuan per mu of new tea gardens has been adopted to encourage villagers to develop tea gardens. After the implementation of the subsidy policy, Yongrong Town added more than 2,000 acres of tea gardens every year.

On the one hand, it is necessary to implement the policy of strengthening agriculture and benefiting farmers, guide and encourage social capital to invest in the tea industry, and drive farmers to increase their income; on the other hand, actively cultivate leading enterprises, large planters, farmers' cooperatives, family farms and other business entities, promote tea production from quantity to quantity and quality, and enhance the competitiveness of the industrial market.

Under the opportunity, As one of the leading enterprises at the municipal level, Yongrong Tea Factory ushered in the rise of a new plant. At the same time, Tian Chaoshu also introduced a tea finishing machine - tea cleaning production line equipment, using the assembly line automatic production method, while improving production efficiency, tea quality at the same time, but also greatly reduced labor costs.

Thanks to the industrial momentum stimulated by the structural reform of the agricultural supply side, the Yongchuan tea industry represented by Yongrong Town has achieved rapid development in recent years.

By the end of 2021, the tea garden area of Yongchuan District will reach 108,900 mu, the tea output will reach 8,300 tons, the output value will reach 1.01 billion yuan, there are more than 30 tea planting, processing and sales of tea enterprises, more than 30 tea professional cooperatives, more than 50 family farms, and more than 40,000 tea-related personnel.

Yongchuan has also become a key area for the production and development planning of famous and excellent tea in the national morning market, a dominant area for agricultural products with Chinese characteristics in Yongchuan Xiuya, and a comprehensive demonstration area for the development of the tea industry in Chongqing.

  Broader development opportunities

In the processing workshop of Yunling Tea Industry, almost every important processing link has a miniature camera on the equipment port - the video collected will be transmitted to the mobile phone, computer and other terminal equipment, and thus determine the quality of tea, the degree of greening, through the image to establish a database and modeling, and feedback to the front-end process.

This is an important exploration to lead Yongchuan tea to the field of intelligence and wisdom. Wu Quanzheng, general manager of Yunling Tea Industry Technology Co., Ltd., is leading the team to realize the full mechanization and digital production of tea.

In Yongrong Town, the young Tian Yao became the "second generation of tea". His son inherited his father's business, and on the basis of learning his father's traditional cultivation and green tea processing technology, he tried to introduce the contemporary art creation methodology into the research and development, planting and processing of "Yongchuan Xiuya". In terms of sales, through new channels such as live streaming with goods and short videos, the "Yongchuan Xiuya" will be pushed to a broader market...

New era, new opportunities. Regarding the "Yongchuan Xiuya", there are still new stories unfolding - according to the plan, by 2025, the planting area of Yongchuan tea will reach 150,000 mu, the annual output of dry tea will be 10,500 tons, the output value will be 1.5 billion yuan, and the output value of the whole industry chain will reach 5 billion yuan.

In order to achieve this goal, Yongchuan will focus on expanding the scale of the base, focusing on strengthening the construction of 40,000 mu of standard tea bases in the Yunwushan, Yinshan, Jishan and Bayue areas, and increasing the cultivation of new types of business entities such as new farmers' professional shareholding cooperatives, tea family farms, and large tea growers, so as to promote the development of tea gardens with the demonstration of new business entities.

At the same time, strengthen processing capacity building, on the basis of accelerating the transformation of existing plant facilities and equipment, introduce enterprises to expand processing plants, build processing production lines, and gradually form a pattern of synchronous development of "large + small" and "fine + coarse" enterprises, and comprehensively improve the level of tea processing.

In terms of expanding product sales, Yongchuan will further expand the sales network of "Yongchuan Xiuya", support enterprises to open "Yongchuan Xiuya" stores, set up sales counters in supermarkets, encourage enterprises to actively use e-commerce, open "Yongchuan Xiuya" e-commerce stores, and build a trading market integrating transaction display, warehousing and storage, transportation and distribution, and e-commerce.

The superposition effect of the tea industry

The story of Yongchuan and tea is not simply the production and marketing, but also the happiness of industry and life, and the integration of industry and culture.

Green hills and trees surround the village. Walking into Baiyun Temple Village in Yongrong Town, the unique idyllic scenery is unforgettable.

Xie Shengxiu's family lives in the Xiayan courtyard, and every morning, she pushes the door to smell the incense, opens the window to see the green, and moves to see the scenery. Xie Shengxiu said that such changes have benefited from the continuous improvement of the living environment in the village.

Baiyunsi Village is the core tea producing area of Yongrong Town, the industry is booming, the villagers' pockets are gradually bulging, and the life of the villagers is also quietly transforming.

The place where the garbage used to be piled up has become a fragrant flower platform, the stinky pool has become clear to the bottom, the mottled earthen wall has become a painted wall, and the retaining wall on the side of the road has been inlaid with imitation stone strips, and embedded in stone troughs, vegetable altars, stone mills, etc., which has become a unique charm.

With strong agriculture, rural beauty and rich farmers, Baiyunsi Village has thus become a demonstration village for rural revitalization in the city.

The "superposition effect" brought about by the tea industry is not only reflected in Baiyunsi Village, but can be seen everywhere in Yongchuan.

The twin peaks in the clouds and mist are facing each other, and the thousands of acres of tea fields with blue waves are colorful pictures created by stalagmite mountain villages in HeGeng Town through the tea industry.

There are 3,000 acres of organic tea gardens, 5,000 square meters of tea comprehensive processing plants, mainly producing "Yunquan Yongchuan Xiuya" series of products, which is a comprehensive tea base integrating production, sales, sightseeing and experience.

Relying on the unique natural and cultural resources and characteristic agricultural resources represented by tea, in recent years, the integration of stalagmite mountain agricultural tourism has been highlighted, and has gradually become a comprehensive tourist destination integrating cultural and creative leisure, research and development, and agricultural experience, which can solve more than 600 neighboring farmers every year and drive surrounding farmers to develop more than 100 family farms and farmhouses.

Travel to rejuvenate tea, tea to promote tourism. To promote the integrated development of tea tourism, in the future, Yongchuan also plans to build five tea culture industrial parks in Jishan "Tea and Bamboo", Yongrong "Tea and Zen", "Tea and Nan", He Geng Stalagmite Mountain "Tea and Love", Daan HuaguoShan "Tea and Folklore", Baofeng LongfengQiao "Tea and Farming", and strive to "build a tea garden and become a scenic spot", gradually launch tea garden ecological tourism routes, and create tea culture and rural tourism with Yongchuan characteristics. At the same time, we will continue to hold activities such as the Tea Culture Tourism Festival, the Tea Fighting Conference, the Tea Culture Forum, and the Tea Picking Festival to further expand the influence of the Yongchuan tea brand.
