Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini Released!

Blackmagic Design today released the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini, a new networked storage solution powered by RAID 0 with high-performance 4 M.2 flash memory. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini has a high-speed built-in 10G Ethernet that allows multiple users to collaborate on video editing via software such as DaVinci Resolve. In addition, with Dropbox syncing, multiple devices located in different regions can be synchronized.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is now being sold by Blackmagic Design's distributors worldwide for RMB 23,850.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is the ideal solution for a wide variety of networked storage applications. It helps multiple users share large media files of film and television productions with each other, facilitate editing, color grading, audio post-production and visual effects work, and even handle 12K Blackmagic RAW digital film files. Every user gets a zero-latency experience and no need to store these files on their local PC. It is also an ideal solution for DaVinci Resolve.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini features a compact rackmount design that's lightweight, portable, and quiet. The product contains an array of 4 flash memory cards inside, and it runs in parallel to obtain higher read and write speeds. The 10G Ethernet port and the 1G Ethernet port are equivalent to a network switch with two ports. In addition, it has an HDMI monitoring output for users to view real-time graphs of the operating status of storage devices on a TV or monitor.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini features an 8TB flash design that provides enough space for the user's files. Its compact and portable design, with ample storage space, can store a large number of video media files, ideal for use in tv production. M.2 flash memory cards provide reliable assurance with high read and write speeds and zero seek times. The four M.2 cards are designed with parallel RAID 0 disk sets, which can achieve higher operating speeds than a single card. This ensures sufficient speed to maintain a 10G Ethernet connection.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini runs so fast because it's powered by a high-speed 10G Ethernet connection. Its memory core is designed around taking full advantage of the theoretical maximum speed of a 10G Ethernet port, even if multiple users are connected. Even at its highest speed, the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is guaranteed to operate virtually silently with only very slight cooling fan noise. With such fast speeds, multicam editing is a breeze, even working with files from large digital cinema cameras.

From now on, users can set up a local cache of Dropbox files. This will greatly increase productivity, because the files no longer need to be downloaded from the Internet, but can be instantly available. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini will continue to operate and stay in sync. In addition, users can even synchronize multiple Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini devices through Dropbox, allowing users around the world to have a local copy of files, enabling efficient and latency-free collaboration. At the same time, Dropbox can also be used as a very ideal backup solution.

The device's HDMI monitor output is its feature highlight. Just connect your TV or computer monitor to see the real-time status of the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini. The storage map provides intuitive graphs to feedback the processing progress of the device's storage core and the real-time read and write status of the currently connected user, as well as other graphs that show the data transfer status of the Ethernet connection. The status of each Dropbox connection is also displayed, and you can even view the connected user and device power status.

The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini comes with a high-speed 10G Ethernet port, which is typically only available on expensive workstation computers. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini delivers high-speed performance with easy access to the high-speed capabilities of a 10G Ethernet port. Even when connected to an Ethernet switch, it can handle dozens of users accessing files at the same time.

The new laptops have a slim design, so they generally don't have an Ethernet connection. The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini comes with a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, and users can simply connect their computer to the USB-C port. By connecting the computer to the Cloud Store Mini's USB-C interface, users get an Ethernet connection solution. Plug and play, files are instantly desirable.

The USB-C port on the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini can be used for file backups. Backup solutions are very important, and while M.2 cards already have fairly high reliability, the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini uses RAID 0 arrays, so it's a good idea to back up all your storage devices as a matter of first. If you want to solve this problem, users only need to connect the hard disk to the usb-C port of the device to make a local backup, without paying any fees on a regular basis, and also protect privacy. Users can connect a single hard disk, or an array of hard disks, via USB-C.

One of the great advantages of blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is that it is a fully controllable private storage solution. No subscription registration fees, no monthly license fees for subsequent licenses, and no need to worry about data usage being tracked. Users can manage the storage settings of the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini without logging into the web, as it uses a free download software utility that can be used on both Mac and Windows systems. As a result, users can connect to private networks and operate completely away from the internet.

"The Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is great because it's a lower-priced NAS model, but it still retains a 10G Ethernet port, so it's very fast." Blackmagic Design CEO Grant Petty said. "Unlike the cheap storage products sold in office supplies stores, the Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini is faster and is specifically designed for the film and television industry. It also features an HDMI monitor output for viewing the real-time status of the storage core! ”
