After the first 5 rounds of competition, the first clay masters of the season, Monte Carlo, was selected by two players. Davedovic from Spain and defending champion Tsitsipas passed the barrier and eliminated their respective opponents to successfully meet. Two players with outstanding performances will be on the verge of winning the third Masters of the season.

In the first half, Davidovic managed to break through to qualify, and the Spanish player showed his dark horse nature at this year's Monte Carlo Masters. In the second round, Davidovic upset Djokovic, then in the third round he defeated the former world's top ten Goffin, the quarter-final reversal eliminated this year's Indian Wells Masters champion Fritz, and in the semi-finals he faced Dimitrov's challenge and he narrowly won three sets.
Tsitsipas came to Monte Carlo as the defending champion, eliminating clay master Fergenini in the second round bye in the first round, and Tsitsipas defeated Jerry in the third round to reach the quarterfinals. Tsitsipas eliminated Argentine clayster Schwartzmann in the quarterfinals, and in the semi-finals against No. 2 seed Zverev, Tsitsipas dropped two straight sets to win the opponent.
The 22-year-old Davidovic reached the masters final for the first time in his career and is currently ranked 46th in the world, making him the biggest discovery of the tournament. Tsitsipas, who is reaching the Masters final for the fourth time in his career, will be on the run for his second Masters title.
The two players have met twice before, having met in the Monte Carlo quarter-finals last year, with Davidovic opting out after losing the first set. The two sides met again at this year's Rotterdam station, with Tsitsipas narrowly beating Davidović in three sets.
