All along, WeChat has always maintained an attitude of cracking down on violations of laws and regulations, and strives to create a safe and green environment for users.
Recently, through user complaints, the WeChat team found that some users had published the following malicious marketing information:
1. Brush single-class information;
2. False and exaggerated information, typically such as the release of marketing information for products with weight loss, aphrodisiac, heightening, breast enlargement, vaginal reduction and other effects (referred to as "black five categories").
Brushing is illegal, whether it is the organizer or participant, the WeChat team will deal with the relevant account; the "black five categories" information is obviously false and exaggerated, which will not only mislead users, but also cause harassment to users and undermine the ecological order of the platform, so once the relevant information is found and verified, the platform will also deal with it in a timely manner.
In accordance with the Cybersecurity Law, the Provisions on the Ecological Governance of Online Information Content and other relevant laws and regulations, as well as the WeChat Personal Account Usage Specifications, the WeChat team has carried out special governance of the above violations.
As of press time, after verifying the evidence of user complaints, the WeChat team has handled the relevant accounts according to the severity of the violation:
75,369 confirmed organizations and accounts participating in the single swipe were restricted from login and restricted use of functions;
18,102 accounts that published malicious marketing information of "Black Five" were restricted from using functions.
