Whether it is a new car or a second-hand car, the Spring Festival is the peak sales season in the traditional sense. This year is particularly special: the direct result of the chip shortage of new cars is that the user's car pick-up cycle becomes longer, and people who can't wait will turn to used cars (especially quasi-new cars), and I believe that many second-hand car dealers have tasted the sweetness at the beginning of the year.

Because it is a foregone conclusion that the chip shortage will not ease in 2022, it is completely reasonable for used car dealers to be optimistic about market expectations. So why is there still a "cold winter" in the Chengdu used car market in March?

Brands that are not strong, mainly family cars, generally feel "obviously sad", and strong brands continue to "steadily advance according to the rhythm". Faced with various unfavorable factors on the consumer side, such as the longer pick-up cycle and the increase in the price of new cars based on cost, I think a clear trend is:

At present, consumers' demand for emotional values and lifestyles still exceeds the demand for tools.

The unpredictable situation of the epidemic, especially the uncertainty of short- and medium-term income expectations, has reduced the desire to shop. Especially for entry-level vehicles, I think this will be more prominent. On the contrary, luxury cars are not greatly affected – this is reflected at the level of used cars and new cars.

The question is, how long will this reduction in desire to shop last?

Of course, for second-hand car dealers, the cold winter since March will be short-lived: new energy vehicles have increased prices, the supply of chips and raw materials continues to be blocked, resulting in a period that is still not optimistic about whether it is a fuel vehicle or a new energy car pick-up cycle, and the suspension of production caused by the epidemic will soon be transmitted to the terminal... The price is confidential, and it can only be said that it will be within our minimum expectations. 2, if it is a niche boutique car, you can try to sell slowly, in fact, do not refuse the platform, like my family feel that the platform is very annoying, worried that I sold the car when I was routine or risky. But I think that under the consciousness of ensuring our own safety, we must believe in the power of the platform. Firmly set your own price bottom line, and the time period is longer. Believe in your car, through more platforms and reach more people, will always meet love home.

3, do not believe the second-hand car dealers in the price of the statement, do their homework, keep the price bottom line, of course, your psychological price should also be reasonable.

5, anyway, the car that is not very driven at home can be sold. Not opening means you don't have a need. Wait until you have figured out what you really need and left enough to live on before it is too late to buy.

6, now is not a particularly good replacement time: the selling price is average, the buying and selling cycle may be very long; the buying cycle may also be very long. If there is a clear replacement need, you can open it first and wait.

7, after clarifying their own needs, in addition to looking at new cars, you may also wish to go to see used cars. Try to keep prices as low as you can within your budget. Especially non-strong brands and models (don't be delusional if you want to buy a cheap big G), there may be surprises.
