This passage comes from the Japanese writer Yi Yi's "The Fox of the Heavenly Emperor".

When I read this book, I felt like someone was telling my own story in my ear. The whole book is smooth and accessible to read, and contains two short stories, "Masquerade" and "Heavenly Emperor Demon Fox".
1. "Masquerade Ball": a suspenseful story on campus

I liked the story a lot, probably because I had a similar experience when I was in school, like a pen pal I had never met before, relying on letters to tell each other about each other's lives.

The second story is "Heavenly Emperor Demon Fox", where 11-year-old Chinese New Year's Eve Wood meets the fox fairy Sanae. And he also found that fox fairies could anticipate weather, accidents, and even life and death.
As a result, he became more and more convinced of the fox fairy, but the fox fairy told him that he would die in four years. Nightwood is afraid of death, and in order to escape death, he does not hesitate to make a deal with the fox fairy.

It was Miss Apricot's tenderness that healed the lonely and sad Nightwood. And the seemingly simple sentence hit my tears, and what was more terrible than death was loneliness.

Overall, these two stories are wonderful, and the protagonists of each story have their own lonely temperament. Although these two stories have a mysterious color, they can reflect the real problems in life.
As a romantic dark fairy tale, "The Fox of the Emperor" skillfully combines darkness, human nature, loneliness, kindness, etc., causing readers to think deeply. Moreover, Yi Yi's narrative style in the two stories is different, as if he is possessed by a character.
The perspectives of the two stories are unique and novel, and they can let go of judgment and immerse themselves in the characters without any burden. After reading this book, I have to admire B's ability to handle words.
