I am Sam is a drama film directed by Jessie Nelson and starring Sean Penn, Dakota Fanin, Michelle Pfeiffer and others, which tells the story of a father with an IQ equivalent to that of a seven-year-old child who fights with the authorities for custody of his daughter.
Synopsis
Sam is in his prime, but his IQ is only that of a 7-year-old child, and by chance, he takes in a homeless woman and gives birth to a daughter, Lucy. However, as soon as the daughter was born, the mother did not quit and left Sam and the young daughter to live together.
In the blink of an eye, daughter Lucy is 7 years old, she is smart, studious, and her intelligence has surpassed Sam's, and Sam has been unable to cope with many of the questions her daughter raises.
