Hello, the protagonist of "Moonlight Knight" appeared in the first two episodes of two very different personalities, namely the elegant museum worker Stephen Grant and the cold-blooded mercenary Mark Spector, but there are many details in the series that hint that the protagonist may still have a third personality, and today I will cover the timeline of the play for you to show these hidden clues.
Thursday
In the morning Steve got up from his bed in the apartment, fed the fish, called his "mother" who hadn't spoken to him in a long time, and hurried to the museum to work. At the museum, Docent Dylan reminds Steven not to forget to go on a date at the steakhouse at 7 p.m. on Friday (though Steve has no recollection of the appointment, let alone that he's a vegetarian), but he doesn't refuse, tacitly admitting to going to the appointment.
After falling asleep at night, Mark took the lead and traveled to Austria on a mission assigned to him by Luna to capture the scarab that was directing Amit's tomb. It may be that during the ambush, Mark accidentally hit his head and passed out, causing Stephen to reappear and take over.
Arthur Harlow's men reported that they had been ambushed while trading the Scarabs, presumably mark, and that a third party was the original custodian of the Scarabs.
Friday
In the morning, Steve wakes up to find himself in a small town beneath the Alps, and someone inexplicably shoots himself. He then meets Arthur Harlow in the town, who wants him to hand over the Scarab. As Stephen and Mark alternately take over, he escapes Harrow's men and flees back to London to hide the scarab in a storehouse.
Sunday
Thinking it was still Friday (the Austrian town was just dreaming), Steve woke up to find that his "Gus" left fin had grown back, realized that it was not his pet, and went to the pet store to confront the clerk. However, the pet store employee said she had seen Mark/Steven come to buy fish on Saturday and had explained to him that fish should have two pectoral fins, and broken fins are very rare.
Steve suddenly remembered his date with Dylan, and at the steakhouse he finally found himself losing his memories of Friday and Saturday. Steve returns home to find Mark's vault keys and a cell phone hidden on the eaves, and is stunned by the appearance of "Luna" Kong Su.
Monday
In the morning, Stephen wakes up from the bus, only to find Arthur Harlow on the same bus, seemingly spying on himself (indicating that there have been other personalities taking over the body during this time, but if it is Mark, there is no reason why he could not find Arthur Harlow, and take him to the museum where Stephen works).
Arthur Harlow then tries to convince Stephen, only to find that he cannot be tried by Amit. In the evening, Stephen encounters harlow's release of the Hell Jackal at the library and finally decides to let Mark take over, and the Moonlight Knight officially appears.
This is the case, and it can be seen from this timeline that there seems to be no way for Steven and Mark alone to fully explain these contradictions in the play. For example, if Mark invites Dylan to a steakhouse, the latter should be able to hear the difference in the accents of Mark and Steven, why she did not show it; more importantly, Mark knew that he was going to the European continent on Friday for a "business trip", so why did he have to meet with Dylan on Friday night.
In addition, Mark returned to London from Europe apparently on Saturday, as the pet store clerk explicitly mentioned seeing him on Saturday to buy fish. That meant Steven hadn't been around all Saturday, and why would a mercenary who had just returned from a mission on the continent want to replace Gus. If these things weren't done by Mark, there must be a third personality to fill the unexplained places on the timeline.
Third personality
In the comics, the Moonlight Knight has a total of three personalities, the protagonist is naturally Mark Spector, the other two are Stephen Grant and taxi driver Jake Lockley. He is the first multiple personality that Mark has developed, and one of the most assholes of the three personalities (Mark is cold-blooded, but he still has his own principles), representing the dark side that Mark really wants to bury.
And in the second episode, when Layla picked up Steven on a motorcycle, she asked, "Is Steven a fake identity that you only used recently?" From Layla's point of view, Stephen wasn't the only identity Mark had used.
So the real situation may be this: Mark, as a mercenary, one day and Layla provoked the "Luna" Kongsu, and may owe the latter a favor. Coinciding with the betrayal of the previous agent, Arthur Harlow, Luna asks Mark to become his agent. However, Mark does not want to fight for the other party forever, and Kong Su has a crush on Layla (or just wants to use her to blackmail the other party), so Mark proposes to divorce her and move to London to protect Layla.
To be honest, I don't think Kong Su is the embodiment of justice in this play, but this topic will be discussed later.
At the same time, Mark needs to study the historical legends of ancient Egypt in order to complete the task assigned by "Luna" (or perhaps to find a way to get rid of the other party's control), so he incarnates stephen to work in the London Museum, and then slowly develops into his third personality, after all, where else is there a more complete ancient Egyptian document? Mark's other person, Gesk Lockley, also finds the opportunity to get out of Mark's control and use Steven's identity to date female colleagues; go to the pet store to buy a new goldfish to exchange for the dead "Gus".
Mark has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and sometimes the detached personality inherits the memories or emotions of the previous personality, which is why Stephen and Layla see each other the same way, and they also like the same French poet Marceline Valmo.
