Dune: Spice Wars, the sequel to the Dune series, has released a preview for the Early Access event, which will open on April 26 for 9-12 months, and after the event, the price of the Early Access version will be lower than the price of the full version.
The Dune series of video games is highly popular in China, and older PC players have experienced the "Dune 2000" era of the computer room. It's been 30 years since the series was born, and the most recent game, King: Battle for Dunes, was released in 2002. Shiro Games and Funcom announced a new series of dunes: Spice Wars at TGA2021, which is enough to surprise fans.
Dune: Spice Wars is based on Frank Herbert's wildly popular Dune novel, while incorporating elements from last year's hit film of the same name. The Early Access version contains the core content of the game, but it lacks some external features. The official promise will continue to be updated, adding multiplayer, competitions, and new playable factions, technology, spy missions, balance adjustments, etc. in the future.
The game currently has four playable factions, in addition to the three factions that appear in the film: the Atreides family, the Harkonnen family, the Fremen, and a faction known as the Smugglers. The game contains a political system, a spy system, and a war system, corresponding to three different victory conditions.
Dune: Spice Wars is not a pure RTS (real-time strategy) like the previous games, but a mix of 4X gameplay from the Civilization series, which is faster in pace than the average SLG (turn-based strategy) and focuses on micro-manipulation.
Dune: Spice Wars will be released on April 26 for early access for PC (no Chinese yet), and interested friends should be ready.
