The house is really modern and was designed by the Chicago Collective Office, with Ryan Myers and Justin Kuehl as the main architects. The footprint of the house looks like the letter "H": two 53-foot containers and two 40-foot containers are separated by 5 feet and connected using SIPS (Structural Insulation Panels and Steel). The recessed space in the middle creates a comfortable outdoor play area with wooden planks and comfortable sofa loungers and coffee tables. The façade of the house is made of industrial steel siding and Brazilian tiger grain wood, a peculiar wood that is loved for its durability and amazing beauty as the wood ages.
Entering the interior of the house, you will be amazed by the construction effect of both privacy and lighting, thanks to the architect's "elevation" of the ceiling of the container, the addition of a row of light-transmitting skylights, plus the original glass windows in the interior, making the interior of the house bright and spacious. The "H" type of space structure makes the functional areas of the interior staggered with each other, the living room is designed in the corner of the two windows, and the kitchen and dining area are set in the middle of the "H" structure, the two spaces are not fully shared, but also maintain good connectivity.
The biggest feature of the open kitchen is that it occupies almost the entire wall of the closet, which provides plenty of space for storage and storage, making the environment look cleaner. From Brazilian parquet floors to standing stitched steel facades to open pipes inside the house, all the unique materials adorn the house's premium qualities.
Built using 4 transport containers, this house has a total living area of about 280 m2 and has a total of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. In the bedroom, the house designer cleverly used wood to weaken the steel properties of industrial buildings, including beds, cabinets, doors, etc. The design of the bathroom is very exquisite, separating the shower, bath and toilet, and the three spaces are independent of each other, which shows how spacious the space of the bathroom is.
The rest of the bedroom design is dominated by brightness and quality, with the exception of the ceiling, which retains the siding of the industrial container, which uses other splint materials. It is worth mentioning that in order to protect the house from rust and moisture accumulation, the architect applied an inch and a half of sprayed foam insulation material inside and outside the transport container to create a comfortable and durable living environment.
