"Before and after the Qingming Dynasty, plant melons and beans", the 24 solar terms, as a valuable agricultural scientific heritage of the mainland, are mainly used to guide agricultural production. The meaning of this proverb refers to the fact that before and after the Qingming Dynasty, the temperature rises and the rainfall increases, which is an excellent season for spring ploughing and spring planting.
There are many agricultural products in the futures market, such as soybeans, corn, cotton and so on. When making these varieties, it is important to understand their production cycle, because it will tell you when to concentrate on the market, what stage to be afraid of what weather will affect the yield, and so on. So what agricultural futures started growing during or after the Qingming Festival?

"A drop of sweat in the spring, a flower in the autumn", which refers to the growth cycle of cotton.
Xinjiang cotton in the main producing areas is generally sown on April 15-25, during which it goes through the seedling stage, bud stage, and flower bell period to late August and early September, and enters the harvest season. The spitting period generally lasts 70 to 80 days. During the whole process, the flower bell period (early July to the end of August, early September) is a critical period for determining production and quality, and the most water is required. If the moisture is out of balance, it can cause the bell to fall off.

An apple tree is a fruit tree that does not flower after 3-5 years of planting and has an economic lifespan of 15-50 years. Generally in April and May flowering, fruit set after flowering, bagging within one month, early ripening varieties of fruit growth period of 65-87 days, medium ripe varieties of fruit growth period of 90-133 days, late ripening varieties of fruit growth period of 137-168 days.
Mainland China is dominated by late-ripening apples, that is to say, October is the time when apples are concentrated on the market. Adverse weather such as low temperature rainfall during the flowering period will affect the fruit set rate.
Jujube
Jujube trees are similar to apple trees and bear fruit over many years. The flowering period is longer, generally from May to July. The ripening period is also in September and October in autumn. Like apples, the flowering period is a critical period for determining yield. Temperature, humidity, precipitation, light, high winds, etc. can affect the flowering and pollination of jujube trees.
For example, low temperatures and rainy rain, insufficient light will lead to a large number of jujube trees falling flowers. When pollination encounters strong winds and sand and dust weather, due to the inability to pollinate normally, it will affect fruit set; when the air humidity is small, the phenomenon of 'scorched flowers'' will occur.
peanut
Generally speaking, spring peanuts are planted from mid-April to early May, around the time of valley rains. It takes roughly 128-175 days from sowing to harvesting, which is when it is intensively marketed in September and October. Peanut harvest must be in the best period, too late easy to rot fruit, fruit fall, germination, etc., resulting in a reduction in production.
soybean
Mainland soybeans are divided into spring soybeans, summer soybeans and autumn soybeans, and spring-sown soybeans in the main producing areas of the northeast are generally sown in the spring and harvested in the autumn. That is, it is planted in May and June, flowering in July and August, filling with pods in August and September, and intensive harvesting in October.
Soybean growth between the germination period (mid to late June) and the flowering period (mid to late July) will determine the number of soybeans that flower and ultimately determine the final yield of soybeans. Drought during this period is likely to adversely affect yields.

Most of the corn in the main producing areas is summer and autumn harvest, similar to soybeans. Usually the last crop, such as wheat, is harvested and corn or soybeans are planted. The entire growth period is basically from May and June to October.
rapeseed
For spring rapeseed, the next step is the time to sow and then harvest in October-November. However, the mainland is dominated by winter rapeseed, which is usually planted in October-November and harvested in May-June. Compared to the previous few, it belongs to planting in the second half of the year.

sugar
Sugarcane can be planted in spring or autumn, no later than April in spring, and august to September in autumn. Spring planting will mature in May and July, and autumn planting will not mature until December. The main sugarcane producing areas on the mainland are harvested from mid-November or early December to April-June of the following year. Beet sugar is squeezed from the end of September or the beginning of October to the end of February.
