Igor Tuvi, one of the most important comic book authors in the Italian comic book industry, is also a musician and director, and the film "5 is the Perfect Number" is adapted from Igor's comic of the same name and directed by himself. Igor's career and artistic creation had a profound impact on the evolution and development of Italian comics. The interesting thing about "Igor Solo Exhibition: Narrating with Images" that is being held at Kushi Art Space at 18 The Bund is that the exhibition does not take time as the main line, but builds a narrative framework based on the artist's trajectory in painting and literature. Around the story that the author wants to tell, the curators have curated a long visual group to present the overall context of the story.
At the same time, the audience can also carefully appreciate the details of each painting and taste the layout and composition of the work. The format is made in accordance with the size and proportions used by the author at the beginning of the creation, and the viewer can intuitively see what the work looked like before it was printed and published.

Curated by Professor Paula Bristolt, the exhibition is divided into four themed sections: "Black Comics from Naples to New York", "Biographical Novels", "Historical Novels" and "Memory Routes", with a total of 11 groups of comic works on display. Together, they construct Igor's highly stylized artistic context. People can find that no matter what kind of work, black comics, biographical novels, historical novels or diary essays, Igor can use different artistic techniques and narrative styles to express his attitudes and opinions clearly and clearly.
Igor's "Black Comics" – 5 is the Perfect Number – and Sinatra – on display in the "Black Comics from Naples to New York" section are particularly striking. "5 is the Perfect Number" is adapted from the comic of the same name, using a narrative style of chapter back, reflecting the appearance of Naples in the 70s, and participated in the 2019 Venice Day (parallel unit of the main competition of the Venice Film Festival) and the Pingyao International Film Festival. Valerie Gaulino also won the David Award for Italian Cinema and the Silver Ribbon Award for Italian Cinema for her outstanding performance in the film.
It was at the end of the 1970s that Igor Tuvi began his career in the city of Bologna under the stage name "Igort", as a cartoonist, illustrator, writer and musician. He lived in Paris and Sardinia all year round. From the beginning of his manga creation, Igor had a great passion for the Orient and traveled to Japan in the 1990s to collaborate with Kodansha. He was the first Western manga artist to work for a Japanese manga magazine. In the "Memory Route" section, traces of his travels can be found.
