In order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of inter-university cooperation between Tianjin Normal University in China and the University of Wyoming in the United States, mr. Shi Wu, Chairman of Tianjin Turquoise Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Professor Zhang Yan, Director of the Chinese Program Department of the University of Wyoming, on March 27, 2022, the China-US China Cultural Exchange Day was held in the online and offline interactive form in the Auditorium of the University of Wyoming. More than 300 teachers and students from China and the United States, including Mr. Edward Seidel, President of the University of Wyoming, Mr. Kevin Carman, Executive Vice President, Ms. Mary Sauron, Former President of the Wyoming House of Representatives, Professor Zhong Yinghua, President of Tianjin Normal University, Professor Yang Wei, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Chang Meijuan, Researcher of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the Central Research Museum of Culture and History, attended the online and offline cultural exchange activities of the two universities.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the US side, President Edward Seidel said: I have a particularly deep interest in Chinese culture, and the University of Wyoming attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and cherishes the educational and cultural exchanges with Tianjin Normal University. He hoped that the two sides would continue to organize more exchange and cooperation projects involving teachers and students, so that the flowers of Sino-US friendship would bloom on the land of China and the United States.
President Zhong Yinghua pointed out at the opening ceremony on behalf of the Chinese side that the University of Wyoming is one of the closest international exchange partners of Tianjin Normal University, and the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in the past ten years have yielded fruitful results. We have explored new models of Chinese cultural experience activities in the world epidemic, and expanded new ideas and new paths in online Chinese learning and cultural exchanges. "Art and Design" is one of the key exchange projects between the two universities, and the representatives of teachers and students from the School of Fine Arts and Design of Tianjin Normal University exhibited their paintings and design works online to show the charm of China's excellent traditional culture. As a special guest of cooperation and exchange between China and the United States, ms. Chang Meijuan, a famous painter, introduced her Chinese painting series "Jin Yun Liufang" to teachers, students and residents of the University of Wyoming online. Drawing on the expression of Klimt, the leader of the Viennese School, she used the language of Chinese brushwork and freehand painting to tell american friends the Chinese story of what happened on the land of the Three Jins, showing the popular Chinese symbols on the land of the Three Jins, which was warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of the University of Wyoming and the residents of the community.
It is reported that the University of Wyoming was founded in 1886, is the only comprehensive state university in Wyoming, the United States, and has been included in the list of the 100 most popular universities in the United States for consecutive years.
