Shen Lankun's pen and ink art appreciation
Mr. Shen Lankun, when he was young, because he liked pictures, he was obsessed with the "graffiti" thing. As a teenager, he set his mind to become a painter. As an adult, he was sensitive to perception, good at taking the strengths of all families, and year after year, his pen and ink skills became more and more sophisticated, and his style was unconsciously revealed. What is even more valuable is that he regards calligraphy and painting as two legs walking on the same road, and one is indispensable. Moreover, as far as painting is concerned, he has a wide range of subjects, and he can do everything in landscapes, figures, flowers and birds.
In the process of learning from tradition, Mr. Shen traveled through the history of Chinese painting, and his heart followed the imitation, especially advocating the "Yuan Sijia" and "Qing Four Monks", and was deeply influenced and inspired by ni Yunlin and the Bada Shanren painting style.
We know that Ni Yunlin's heirloom works, mostly painting mountains and stones, old trees and lake beaches, the composition is empty and remote, shallow slopes, sparse forests, very poetic. He uses a variety of brushes, proficient in simple and complex, but can see the big in the small, feel the desert on the outside and stir on the inside, and is considered to be one of the most influential painters in the Yuan Dynasty, and has countless fans so far.
Tracing back to the history of painting, in the landscape and flowers and birds freehand painting, the stars are brilliant, each has its own specialty, but the eight mountain people are all-round and good at the same time. His pen and ink are deep and resolute, his style is majestic and timeless, he is deep in the rhyme of simplicity and simplicity, and he is good at expressing the interest of quiet and mu, which is a landmark in the history of Chinese painting.
We can also indeed glimpse from Mr. Shen's works the Ni's folding belt method, dry ink, and even the unrestrained artistic conception, and moreover, Xiao Shan is even more transcendent. Mr. Shen's huge landscape paintings can better reflect his cultivation and application of freehand techniques, with abundant pen and ink, magnificent momentum, highlighting the beauty of Xiujian in the vigor, and there is no lack of simplicity in simplicity.
Admiring Mr. Shen's works, it is not difficult to find that whether it is the layout or the pen dyeing, it seems to be handy and careless. However, when examined from the height of art, we suddenly realize that it turns out that he is trying to write beyond the transcendence of law, but strives to be reasonable. Mr. Shen clearly observes the meaning of "do not exceed the rules from the heart", and grasps and applies it naturally, which is the result of the water latex solution of thoughts and emotions and pen and ink techniques, that is, "the situation is created by the heart". Obviously, his creative process is a state of freedom in the landscape.
In fact, the painting style of the Bada Shan people was deeply influenced by Ni Yunlin, but he was never confined by Ni Shi. Mr. Shen has long been immersed in the artistic kingdom of Ni Linyun and bada Shanren, but when creating, he can change it, gather the elements of the moment, and fully present his aesthetic concepts, which is to learn from the ancient and not to mud in the ancient, which is to learn from the ancient and not to mud in the ancient, which is to learn from and innovate.
At the same time, Mr. Shen also noticed that both Ni Yunlin and Bada Shanren were not only good at painting, but also good at calligraphy. Mr. Shen is also constantly climbing towards this artistic height of "calligraphy and painting do not separate families". In Mr. Shen's own words, calligraphy is the vocabulary and language that makes paintings, and the profound calligraphy literacy can enhance and enrich the expressiveness of the painting language. In his opinion, for a painter with great ambitions, whether he "has poetry and bookishness in his belly" or "the same origin of calligraphy and painting", the "book" involved in it should not be isolated from reading and writing, and must expand and cultivate towards the level of high integration of the two.
Long-term pen and ink practice has made Mr. Shen deeply aware of the rich and unique artistic expression of writing or lines in painting. Therefore, calligraphy and creation are his uninterrupted daily lessons. At the same time, he pays great attention to the different artistic laws between calligraphy "writing" and painting "sketching", and the subtle complementary relationship between them. In addition to the four major calligraphies of "Ou Yan Liu Zhao", Wang Xizhi and Mi Fu are both artistic idols that Mr. Shen admires.
Mr. Shen grew up in the northwestern region of Lu, where there is a fish mountain on the bank of the Yellow River, with beautiful scenery, not only preserving the relics of the past, but also sleeping the famous literary scholar Cao Zhi of the Three Kingdoms period. Although Yushan is full of poetry and magical legends, these alone are far from enough to achieve a painter's pen and ink dream. Therefore, in order to "teach nature", Mr. Shen traveled a long distance to go deep into the hinterland of the Loess Plateau and the Taihang Mountains, diligently sketching, and laying a solid "material" foundation for creation.
At the same time, he actively captures the brilliant flowers of the contemporary art genre, between the creative achievements of the ancients and nature, seeks the convergence point between painting art and humanistic landscape, stimulates the inspiration from the composition layout to the artistic conception at any time, and strives to sublimate the objective "object image" in front of him into the perfect pen and ink "image" at the artistic level, and then become an artistic symbol that conveys the thoughts and feelings and the spirit of the times, which is the focus of Mr. Shen's "foreign teacher creation" to settle in the "source of the heart". It is also a kind of deep thinking and artistic exploration embodied in the works.
From Mr. Shen's works, it can be seen that his arrangement and treatment of the scenery or the relationship between pen and ink is completely a kind of echo relationship close to nature. This is the mental record of the teacher's natural and then revealed in the pen, full of poetry and interest, magnificent and thick to absorb the luster and spirit show, majestic and upright while showing handsomeness and magnificence. Mr. Shin and I have never known each other, but from these pictures, I can feel his broad mind and heroic demeanor. This can also be called "painting as the voice of the heart".
Kung Fu pays off, and we are pleased to see that Mr. Shen's works, behind the rich natural expressions, present a vivid and vivid charm, containing vigorous vitality and elegant spiritual temperament. If we talk about it in terms of "the state is created by the mind", we can see that his understanding of nature is a tacit understanding of "the unity of heaven and man".
In order to further open up his artistic territory, in addition to learning from the ancients and asking about nature, Mr. Shen also humbly sought advice from modern and contemporary masters. Mr. Shen has successively studied in the Shandong Provincial Artists Association Chinese Painting Creation Seminar and the Beishan Burning Dream Training Class (Zhang Zhimin Studio Teaching Center), which has benefited from the guidance of teaching, and his pen and ink attainments and artistic accomplishment have improved rapidly, and his works have been improved by leaps and bounds from the composition of pen and ink to the rendering of the artistic realm.
In recent years, Mr. Shen's works have been repeatedly selected for national exhibitions and provincial exhibitions and won awards, and as a member of the provincial beauty association, he has held many positions in the city and county level. This is the footprint left by Mr. Shen on the road of art pilgrimage, and it is also his gas station and new starting point for the art temple.
In order to devote himself to his work, Mr. Shin has abandoned his busy daily business and become a professional painter. A hard-working man with artistic talent and constant progress, once he decides to dedicate his life to the cause he loves, heralds a fruitful harvest season beckoning to him.
