Defending champion Indonesia is in the death bracket

The draw ceremony for the 2022 Total Energy Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals, to be held in Bangkok from 8 to 15 May, will be held by BWF in the host city, with the presence of organizer officials and sponsors. As of 22 February 2022, the 16 teams playing in the men's and women's tournaments are divided into four groups based on their overall standings of three-line players and two pairs of doubles players.

The last Thomas Cup runner-up China will compete in Group B against 2016 champions Denmark, France and African champions Algeria.

In the Uber Cup, the 15-time champion Chinese team played Chinese Taipei, Spain and Australia in Group B, while Japan, which lost to China in the thrilling final last year, was grouped with Indonesia, France and Germany.

IOC Member, BWF Vice President and President of the Thai Badminton Association Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul welcomed all the players to Thailand and thanked the BWF for giving the Thai Badminton Association the opportunity to host the Toyo Cup Finals for the second time in four years.
