Official: Former South Korean captain Ki Sung-yong ended his ten-year career in the West and joined Seoul FC

Live Bar, July 21, K League team Seoul FC officially announced that former South Korean national team captain Ki Sung-yong ended his career in the West and officially joined the team, he will wear the team's No. 8 jersey.

Born in 1989, Qi Chengyong is 31 years old and plays as a midfielder. After the Asian Cup in early 2019, he announced his retirement from the national team as captain of the South Korean national team.

Before officially starting his career in Foreign Countries, Qi Chengyong played for Seoul FC. In 2010, at the age of 21, Qi Chengyong joined the Su super league giants Celtic from Seoul FC, and he briefly worked as a teammate with Chinese player Zheng Zhi at the Celtics.

In the summer of 2012, Qi Chengyong joined Premier League side Swansea for a transfer fee of 7 million euros, and in 2013 he went on loan to Sunderland; in the summer of 2018, he joined Newcastle on a free flyer in the summer window of 2018, and signed to Mallorca in La Liga in the winter window of 2020, making only one appearance on the la Liga bench.

Qi Chengyong has accumulated a wealth of experience in the Premier League, making 186 appearances in the Premier League between 2012 and 2020, scoring 15 goals. He has played for Swansea (11 goals in 162 games), Sunderland (4 in 34 games) and Newcastle (23 games). In his early years in the Soviet Premier League, Qi Chengyong made 87 appearances for the Celtics in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and 15 assists.

In this year's AFC Champions League, Seoul FC is in the same group as Chinese team Beijing Guoan.
