As detailed in the update notes, the development team said in it that "we have been working hard to improve the experience of Forza Horizon 5 and have updated a new progression system, including badges that can be unlocked through the game".

There are also custom matches, which allow players to find matches with "the event and PI level of their choice", as well as fixes for some cases where "players may have waited longer than necessary in the post-match process".
