On March 25, Beijing time, the 2022 WTA1000 Miami station ended the competition for the third day of the main tournament. Only three seeded players, Abdul-Abdul-Jabbar, Collins and Bencic, were eliminated except for Halep and Giorgi, who retired from the tournament due to injury before the game.
Top seed Sabalenka lost 4-6, 4-6 to Romanian begu, suffering three consecutive losses on the Tour. Begu won his seventh career game against the world's top ten wins against Sassnovic. No. 3 seed Contavet lost 0-6, 6-3, 4-6 to homegrown youngster Ann Lee and missed the promotion. Ann Lee beat the world's top ten players for the first time in his career, taking on compatriot Risque.
No. 6 seed Pliskova lost 3-6, 3-6 to qualifier Kalinskaya and went on to miss out on her first win. Kalinskaya beat the world's top ten for the second time in her career and will play Bronzetti in the third round. Last year's US Open champion Radukanu was reversed 6-3, 4-6, 5-7 by Snyakova and was eliminated in the first match.
Naomi Osaka
In the second round of the focus battle, in the contest between the two Grand Slam winners, Naomi Osaka, who played with a wild card, defeated 13th seed Kerber 6-2, 6-3, ending a four-game losing streak against the latter. The third round will take on Czech player Mukhova.
