Hoophype reporter Michael Scotto recently did a survey: Who is the most influential player in the NBA's history? The survey was conducted on 52 NBA players, both active and retired. Of course, this sample is a bit small.
Let's take a look at the results: Jordan ranks first with 73.85% of the vote, James is second with 37.69%, Iverson is third with 33.08%, Bryant is fourth with 32.69%, and Magician is fifth with 28.46%.
6th-10th places are: Curry (27.31%), O'Neill (12.31%), Bird (7.69%), Bill Russell (6.54%), Abdul-Jabbar (6.54%).
11-20: Nowitzki, Earl Lloyd, Chamberlain, Julius Owen, Robertson the Great, Nash, Garnett, Spencer Heywood, Petrovich, Moses Malone;
21-27: Ginobili, Yao Ming, Jeremy Lin, Lillard, Jerry West, Maddy, Eddie Jones.
Do you think this finding is reasonable?
