MG upgrades its popular ZS EV
The model provides improved scope and updated design
Prices will be announced next month
MG has upgraded its ZS EV, the biggest of which is the increased range and updated design.
The brand's best-selling electric model comes with a new 72kWh battery pack and has a range of up to 273 miles – more than 100 miles more than the 163 miles offered by previous models.
MG also said it will add a smaller 51kWh battery option next year with a range of 198 miles.
Capable of charging at speeds up to 76kW, mg ZS can charge up to 100% in as little as 42 minutes with a fast charger and up to 100% in 10 1/2 hours with a traditional 7kW home charger.
The EV's exterior features a new front-end design that incorporates the stamping effect of the grille to help improve aerodynamics.
The LED headlights have also been redesigned, and the rear bumper has also been redesigned. New alloy wheels are also available, and new side-opening charging ports are also installed.
Inside, there's a 10.1-inch tablet-style infotainment system with new graphics and improved features. MG's iSMART smartphone app also provides access to aspects such as climate control and charging functions.
ZS also benefits from the new dashboard, while high-end Trophy models will also accept wireless smartphone charging.
The ZS is one of six models in MG's current lineup, and its price is set for announcement next month, along with more information about the car's available specifications.
