Yesterday James overtook Karl Malone to rise to second place in the all-time scoring list. Currently, only Abdul-Jabbar is ahead of James with 38,387 points. Abdul-Jabbar, at the age of 42, scored his career 38,387 points in his 20th season. James is just 1,440 points away from equaling Abdul-Abdul-Jabbar. Averaging 20 points per game requires 72 games; 25 points per game requires 58 games; and averaging 30 points per game requires 48 games.
If he maintains an average of 25 points per game, James will need to play another 122 games to reach 40,000 points.
