Among them, one of the more difficult problems is that the formation heat transfer parameters, well type and well spacing are only referenced by empirical values, and there is a lack of shallow geological data in the oil area. In order to obtain reliable geological data, the Dagang Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute carried out geotechnical thermal property tests, calculated the reasonable spacing of the heat exchange holes, and formulated and improved the accurate and feasible feasibility study plan. In line with the principle of high efficiency, economy and demonstration, make full use of the original heating station air conditioning circulation pump and collector foundation, and build 641 double U-shaped shallow energy conversion wells, which coincides with the code name "641 Plant" in the early stage of development and construction of Dagang Oilfield. At the same time, in accordance with the principle of "remote control + local automation control", the intelligent control system is improved and the stability of the system operation is improved.

The geothermal project took 90 days to complete and was officially put into operation on November 9, 2021, with a heating and cooling area of nearly 50,000 square meters, opening a new era of green heating in the oilfield office area.

Yang Jie, director of the Geothermal Development Center of Dagang Oilfield Land Management Service Company, said that since the project was put into operation, the shallow geothermal heating system of the Exploration and Development Research Institute has been running smoothly for more than 120 days, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 700 tons while meeting the winter heating demand. The promotion of shallow ground source heat pump technology will help achieve the "double carbon" goal, which is more than 30% more energy-saving than traditional central air conditioning.
