On March 19, Beijing time, the 2021-22 NBA regular season is in full swing. In the middle of this season, a former all-bright planet star is in a very delicate situation, and he is the Knicks Walker. Walker hasn't played since playing against the Nets on Feb. 17.
Earlier today, Knicks coach Thibodeau revealed that Walker is currently leaving the team and is on his own recovery activities, according to New York Post reporter Mark Berman. Walker has reportedly been shuttling between his home in Charlotte and New York, where he is actively rehabilitating. Walker's mother still lives in his home in Charlotte, and walker is very likely to return to the Hornets.
Last summer, Walker was first traded to the Thunder, then joined the Knicks after reaching a buyout. In New York, however, he was not reused by coach Thibodeau and was briefly DNP at the beginning of the season. It was then agreed that Walker would not play again this season.
So far this season, Walker has made 37 appearances, averaging 25.6 minutes per game, 11.6 points, 3 rebounds and 3.5 assists, shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three-point range.
The two sides have reportedly not yet talked about a buyout, and the Knicks could send Walker off his expiring contract in a draft night deal at the end of June.
Throughout his career, Walker has been named to the All-Star Team four times and has scored 60 points in a single game. He played for the Hornets for eight seasons and would be an excellent option for him to return to Charlotte.
