01 Ji Za hangs a sword

During the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a Prince of Wu named Ji Zha, who was a virtuous and charitable man.

Once, Ji Zha was ordered to send an envoy to the north, passing by xu guo and meeting with the monarch of xu guo. The monarch of Xu Guo saw that Ji Zha was wearing a sword on his body, and he liked it very much, so he took it to enjoy it and loved it.

Ji Zha knew in his heart that the monarch of Xu Guo wanted this sword, and immediately decided to give it to him.

However, Ji Zha still wanted to continue to travel to other countries, and if he did not have this sword to protect, he was afraid that it would bring disadvantages, so he did not immediately give the sword to the monarch of Xu State.

Ji Za wanted to wait for him to return from the other country and then give the sword to the monarch of xu state.

However, what was unexpected was that when Ji Zha returned from the mission and passed by Xu Guo, the monarch of Xu Guo had already passed away.

Ji Zha then took off the sword he was wearing and hung it on the tree in front of the tomb of Xu Guoguo' monarch, crying and paying tribute, but only then did he leave for Wu.

Seeing this move, Ji Zha's entourage asked very puzzledly, "Xu Jun is gone, who will hang the sword here?" ”

Ji Zha replied, "I had already acquiesced in giving the sword to Xu Jun before, but because he died, he would go against his own heart and not give it to Xu Jun?" ”

The story of Ji Za hanging up the sword tells us the truth that we must keep our promises.

02 Lying down to taste the guts

In 496 BC, the State of Wu sent troops to attack the State of Yue, and the King of Yue led his troops to meet the Wu army, and the Vietnamese army won a great victory.

During the melee, King Wu was wounded and later fell ill and died. On his deathbed, he passed the throne to the crown prince Fuchai and asked him to avenge himself.

After Fu Cha succeeded to the throne, with the belief of avenging his father, he exerted great efforts to govern and trained elite soldiers diligently, making full preparations for revenge.

Later, Wu Wang Fuchai led troops to attack the Yue state, and the Vietnamese army was defeated. King Gou of Yue fled to Huiji with his remnants, and the Wu army caught up with them and surrounded the Yue legions.

King Gou of Yue knew that the Yue army had no power to fight back, and when the situation was critical, he had to ask King Wu for peace, he was willing to be a subject of King Wu, and his wife was willing to be King Wu's concubine, in order to beg King Wu to forgive them.

Seeing The sincere peace of King Gou of Yue, King Fuchai of Wu agreed to pardon Gou Jian and let him return to The Kingdom of Yue.

After returning to China, Yue Wang Gou Jian always reminded himself not to forget the humiliation, sleeping at night, without a bed, not a futon, just lying on a firewood.

Not only that, Yue Wang Gou Jian hung up a bitter bile, whether it was sitting, lying down, drinking, or eating, he looked up, tasted the bitter bile, and constantly reminded himself: "Have you forgotten the shame of being funny?" ”

King Gou of Yue managed this painstakingly for ten years, the country was rich and the people were rich, the soldiers were well fed, and finally defeated the Wu army in one fell swoop, and the great revenge was repaid.

This classic story tells us: We must remember the lessons, temper our minds, and endure humiliation and burden in order to turn defeat into victory.

03 The Plains King's Virtue is Light and Beautiful

Pingyuan Jun, whose real name was Zhao Sheng, was the son of King Wuling of Zhao during the Warring States period, and was known as the "Four Princes of the Warring States" along with Meng Yujun, Xin Lingjun and Chun Shenjun at that time.

Pingyuan Jun was a minister of Zhao Guo, he liked to attract guests, and there were thousands of diners under the door.

In the home of Pingyuan Jun, there is a high-rise building with carved beams and paintings, which is very gorgeous. The concubines of the Plain King often went to this tall building to look at the fence and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Opposite this tall building is a row of low bungalows with many homes.

One day, one of Pingyuan Jun's concubines was on a tall building, and saw a lame man coming out of the bungalow opposite, carrying a bucket of water, and walking hard to the river to fetch water.

On the way back, the bucket was filled with water, and he walked backwards and backwards, accidentally falling to the ground, and a bucket full of water was scattered everywhere.

Seeing his embarrassed look, this concubine of Pingyuan Jun clapped her hands and laughed, which made the cripple feel very uncomfortable.

The next day, the cripple went to the Pingyuan Jun theory, saying that everyone in Su Ri said that Pingyuan Jun was a virtuous man and respected the Magi, but his concubine laughed at the lame soldier and asked the Pingyuan Jun to punish the concubine.

At first, Pingyuan Jun did not think so, and did not feel at ease, as more and more guests left, PingYuanjun realized that he had done something wrong.

Finally, The Plain King punished the concubine and personally went to the cripple's door to apologize.

Pingyuan Jun's move was praised by the people, and later the number of guests under the door gradually increased.

This classic story tells us that we must know how to respect others and not laugh at others.
