I can't imagine that it is such a guy: he has suffered from depression all his life, and the HSP debut is too demanding to be disappointed in himself

Top poker player Garrett Adelstein has been a hit regular on Live at the Bike and Hustler Casino Live for a long time. But it wasn't until Monday that he made his debut on "High Stakes Poker."

Still, one of the world's best high-stakes table players didn't fare well in his HSP debut. This is not our analysis, but his own words.

"I was very disappointed with my performance, which partly affected my mental health issues for the next few weeks." Guy said after the game.

The episode that Gego participated in was the fourth episode of the ninth season of "High Stakes Poker", and the guest list of this episode came to a big change, which was almost a brand new table compared to the third episode.

Old faces Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Doyle Brunson are still present. New members include Kim Hultman, who is returning for the third time, and Xuan Liu, Krish Menon and Jennifer Tilly, who also made their debut at HSP.

Let's take a look back at what interesting games have happened in this episode...

Garrett Adelstein VS Krish Menon

Flip forward

Patrik Antonius raised $1,100 at gunpoint with the A6; Krish Menon $3,600 with KQ 3-bet at the button; KK 4-bet $14,000 for the Gago Blind; Patrik Antonius quickly folded; Krish Menon was a very aggressive 5-bet to $28,200; Garrett Adelstein called.

These two high-stakes table players have an extensive history of playing each other on Hustler Casino Live, and the two sides can say that they know the roots, so it's no surprise to see them tough here.

Flop 8J6

Kim Hultman still refuses to believe that his opponent has a large pocket pair, so he bets $50,000 after Gaigo passes the card; the bluffing is unsuccessful because Gaigo directly plays All-in; only Kim Hultman of K Hi can not continue to call, only to fold.

A lot of pocket pairs

The Poison King then opened a match, but his bad luck still passed in this hand with Jennifer Tilly. Jennifer Tilly raised 66 in the front pot of a flop with a single raise; Poison King took a KK call. The public card was 210Q69; Jennifer Tilly achieved a comeback in the turn. Poison King placed a $24,000 bet on the River Deck and 33,000 in the pot, but was raised to $75,000 by Jennifer Tilly. Poison King successfully folded with good self-discipline and saved himself $51,000.

The frequency of Pocket K appears particularly high that night. In the next hand, Guy got KK again and bet $1 in Krish Menon with AQ, 3-bet to $4,500 with 108, and Krish Menon.

The flop appeared J88; the old way hit three select cards; Krish Menon crossed the cards; and unexpectedly, Gaigo actually followed the cards, a decision that surprised commentator Gabe Kaplan.

Turn 7; this time the old way bet $10,000; Krish Menon fold; Gaigo called to see the river 9.

Old Way's cards were raised to straights, with a bet of $19,000; at this point Guy made an impressive fold. Still, he wasn't happy with his overall performance, which later led to a nervous breakdown, though he still enjoyed the experience.

"Playing High Stakes Poker for the first time is undoubtedly a dream come true, playing at the same table with so many legends every day is a memory I will cherish forever. That being said, I put a lot of pressure on myself to reach the highest level at the most important moments of my career, regardless of the outcome. But I didn't come close enough to do it in several hands. Gaigo said.

Garrett Adelstein VS Patrik Antonius

One of the cards that Guy thinks he doesn't play very well may be against Patrik Antonius.

Guy used AK 5-bet to $30,000 in the small blind spot; Patrik Antonius called with 97.

Flop Q49

Guy crosses his opponent; Patrik Antonius bets $14,000; Guy calls to see the transfer.

Transfer 2

Guy crossed the cards again to his opponent, this time Patrik Antonius bet $25,000; with the A high card, Guy had no reason to fold.

River Pai 10

Patrik Antonius bet $80,000; this may be a good time to bluff, but Guy eventually folds.

Soon after, due to missing the Nuts Flush, Gaigo lost to Kim Hultman with a top pair of $31,000 in the pot.

Overall, in his HSP debut, Guy did quite well. He even increased his chips from $200,000 to over $300,000, but it looks like Guy has more of himself, which may explain why he was disappointed with his debut performance.

Gego, who suffers from depression

Gego has publicly admitted that he has suffered from depression all his life. Although he was a highly skilled and lucrative professional poker player, he suffered from a serious mental illness.

That's why he said after the game that his debut on The High Stakes Poker caused him to have a nervous breakdown.

Gego explains: "I finally fully recovered my spirit and emotions, allowing myself to let go and move on in poker and in life. ”

"All of us, no matter who we are, sometimes don't live up to the performance we want or expect, but when our ability to recover emotionally is tested the most, it's the most important thing to forget. I feel like this is a test I've recently passed with great results. He concluded.

Xuan Liu VS Jennifer Tilly

Jennifer Tilly

The show ended with Xuan Liu suffering a costly defeat.

Xuan Liu raised AQ to $2,500 at muzzle; Jennifer Tilly, a small blind, called with KJ.

Flop 6AQ

Xuan Liu hit two pairs and wagered $3,500; Jennifer Tilly called.

Transfer 6

Neither side improved, and Xuan Liu bet again, this time at $10,000; jennifer Tilly chose to bluff $30,000; Xuan Liu called.

Jennifer Tilly hits the straights and places a $50,000 bet; Xuan Liu realizes she may be in trouble, but she fails to drop her cards, losing a $173,000 pot in the final hand of the episode.
