Lin Gengbai, whose original name was Lin Xueheng, was born in 1897 in Luozhou Town, Minhou County, Fujian Province. At a young age, Lin Gengbai had already revealed his intelligence, and from childhood, he was regarded as a "prodigy".
At the age of 4, he can dance and ink, at the age of 7, he can read and break sentences in private school, complete poetry creation independently, and go to Beijing to study at the age of 8. During his studies in Beijing, Lin Gengbai was expelled from school for writing poems cursing Confucius and had to study on his own.
In 1909, at the age of 13, Lin Gengbai studied at Beijing Normal University, and a year later, at the recommendation of Wang Jingwei, he joined the Beijing-Tianjin League, and he also became the youngest member of the league.
In the first half of his life, Lin Gengbai was enthusiastic about politics, and when the Xinhai Revolution broke out in 1911, Lin Gengbai worked with Sun Yat-sen and was elected secretary general of the House of Representatives. In 1931, Lin Gengbai divorced his wife, after the divorce Lin Gengbai completely began to "indulge in love of freedom" life, he pursued many people in his life, and most of them were famous women of the Republic of China, Lu Xiaoman, Zhang Liying, Tang Ying, movie star Wang Ying, etc. When in love with Zhang Bi, a female employee of the Ministry of Railways of the Republic of China Government, the two often attached themselves to poetry, which became a sensational affair at that time.
It is said that Lin Gengbai also pursued Lin Huiyin, the daughter of fellow villager Lin Changmin, and Liu Wujie, the daughter of liu Yazi, a senior. It was not until 1937 that the 40-year-old finally accepted his heart and finally married Lin Huiyin's cousin, Lin Beili, a 20-year-old woman.

In 1915, Yuan Shikai forcibly claimed the title of emperor in spite of public opinion, and Lin Gengbai judged it by saying: "Xiangcheng (Yuan Shikai) will live to an end, and those who celebrate with bullet crowns will take the iceberg as Mount Tai", he predicted that Yuan Shikai would die violently in 83 days when he claimed to be emperor, and finally Yuan Shikai's end was just as he said. Since then, he has been enshrined as "Divine Calculation".

Lin Gengbai, who has been intoxicated with this for a long time, indulged in it after quitting the political arena, and he told himself many times, according to his birthday, when he was 45 years old, there was a big disaster, and he was convinced of it.
In order to avoid his own catastrophe, he moved to Hong Kong with his wife. But sadly, just 10 days after he arrived in Hong Kong, the Pacific War broke out, and Lin Gengbai, who was on a day out, was shot by the Japanese army in Tsim Sha Tsui and died in the street.
Although it was later proved that the reason why the Japanese army shot Lin Gengbai was premeditated and deliberate, in order to deter patriots in Hong Kong, in the end he could not escape the fate he had calculated for himself.
