Recently, the person in charge of the Publication Bureau of the Central Propaganda Department accepted an exclusive interview with the reporter of China Press, Publication, Radio and Telegraph, and the person in charge repeatedly mentioned the content related to online games in his speech. The person in charge mentioned that the Publishing Bureau will guide the publishing unit to get close to the audience of readers such as minors, launch a number of high-quality online games with distinct main themes and positive energy, and vigorously create an online and offline publishing environment conducive to the healthy growth of young people.

To this end, the Publishing Bureau will focus on the implementation of the "Online Game Positive Energy Leading Plan", guide online publishing enterprises, focus on cultivating future people, adhere to the correct direction, increase innovation, carefully create a number of excellent Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture, advanced socialist culture, carry forward the core values of socialism, deepen socialism with Chinese characteristics and Chinese dream publicity and education, and give full play to the important role of excellent publications in cultivating new people of the times who are responsible for national rejuvenation.

The person in charge also said that the Publishing Bureau will formulate management measures to strictly prevent minors from indulging in online games, upgrade the real-name verification system, build and make good use of the anti-addiction reporting platform, increase the monitoring and inspection of online games, and seriously deal with violations of laws and regulations.

The State Internet Information Office once again solicited public comments on the Regulations on the Protection of Minors Online (Draft for Solicitation of Comments).

The Opinions put forward that online service providers such as online games, online live broadcasts, online audio and video, and online social networking shall set up juvenile models for minors' use of their services, providing services in accordance with relevant national provisions and standards in terms of period of use, duration, function, and content, and providing guardians with functions such as time management, authority management, and consumption management for guardians performing their guardianship duties.

Reasonably limit the amount of single-time consumption and the amount of accumulated consumption in a single day in the use of online products and services by minors, and must not provide minors with paid services that are inconsistent with their capacity for civil conduct. Online game service providers shall establish and improve game rules to prevent minors from becoming addicted to online games, and avoid minors' access to game content or game functions that might affect their physical and mental health.

Online game service providers shall require minor users to provide real identity information for registration and login use, and verify their true identity information through necessary means such as the unified electronic identity authentication system for minors' online games established by the State. Where minor users do not provide real identity information, online game service providers must not provide services to them.
