After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Chong was even more highly regarded, and he served as the former vice governor of Yunnan Province, and later he was elected as the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and he was Zhang Chong, the former vice governor of Yunnan Province.
Zhang Chong is a native of Xiaobukan, Yongning Township, Luxi County, Yunnan Province, a native of Yi, born in 1901, when he was a child, Zhang Chong read books and attended private schools, so he was also exposed to certain cultural knowledge, and then went to the county town to study primary school.
And when he was a child, Zhang Chong was a very bold person, but also very witty, once he was caught by bandits, according to common sense, Zhang Chong should be extremely afraid, but did not expect that Zhang Chong at that time was calm, as for the process is not much to say, and finally Zhang Chong successfully persuaded the bandits to retreat, which is also the reason why everyone later called him "Xiao Kongming".
In his youth, Zhang Chong also had a very strong sense of justice, and he was also very good at fighting injustice, because of the darkness of the old society at that time, Zhang Chong soon felt extremely angry and disappointed, but he was not willing, he thought that he had to fight with poor people and evil forces, and later Zhang Chong joined Tang Jiyao's troops, and was trusted and valued by Tang Jiyao.
However, Tang Jiyao's end was quite bleak, and he was overthrown by Long Yun, but Zhang Chong continued to get Long Yun's weight and was appointed as the commander of the Fifth Division of the Dian Army, and Zhang Chong was only 27 years old at this time.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhang Chong was then the commander of the 184th Division of the Sixty Army, and not long after he was dispatched to the anti-Japanese battlefield to fight the Japanese army, in the Battle of Taierzhuang, Zhang Chong's troops fought very bravely, he personally went into battle to kill the enemy, and once shouted such exciting words in the battle:
"I am Division Commander Zhang Chong, don't run." Our Dian army is very prestigious in the Yasukuni and protectorate countries, famous all over the world, and has a glorious tradition, and if we can't even win a little Japan, our Dian army's face will be lost. ”
Later, Zhang Chong was so close to our party that he was hated by Chiang Kai-shek, for which Chiang Kai-shek ordered him to be dismissed from his post and executed, but fortunately he was later saved by Long Yun and Lu Han.
In 1947, Zhang Chong came to Yan'an with his wife and family, and not long after, he officially joined our Communist Party, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Chong was also highly regarded, successively serving as vice governor of Yunnan Province, director of the Yunnan Provincial Nationalities Committee, vice chairman of the Nationalities Committee of the National People's Congress, and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
In addition, Zhang Chong also crossed the Tiger Leaping Gorge nine times after the founding of the People's Republic of China to investigate, and put forward positive suggestions for the development of the Jinsha River.
On October 30, 1980, Zhang Chong, the former vice governor of Yunnan Province, died at the age of 80.
